This is a great 500 year old former priest's house situated right on the peaceful main square. It now does B&B and we think also evening meals if you pre-book. The friendly owner has lovingly restored the place , retaining the atmosphere but ensuring that heating, showers etc are fully modernized. He is clearly passionate about providing a good experience...

My wife and I stayed here for one night in late May, ‘16. We were driving from the central Pyrenees to the Basque country and wanted a place to break up the trip. The Amphitryon was a very good choice, and we would recommend it for a longer stay as well. It is a great value (note, though, they only...

Very quaint, not high quality stuff used inside, but overcome by it's history. Breakfast best described at artisan, but no croissant which was a disappointment. Overall it was acceptable, a little uninviting from the outside with a bit of paper to tell they did not open till 17:00. The front path/steps could do with a tidy. Everyone was friendly and...

We stayed at the Amphitryon on a tour of Spain and France and booked one night in advance. I wish we could have stayed longer. The room was beautifully appointed and furnished, with lots of storage and light. We overlooked the square but it was quiet. The en suite was lovely with everything we needed, though the shower cubicle was...

Diaz was very friendly and attentive. Couldn't offer enough to help in your stay. Down side if there was one .... It was at the top of a very steep hill. Check out the nearby church with large tomb stones. Fabulous views from the river running through the village 😃

We booked the suite for just one night but wished we could stay longer. The house is ancient and exudes character and charm, decorated with taste and imagination. The host was very welcoming and helpful and we had a wonderful dinner at La Part des Anges near the cathedral, which he recommended. Nice breakfast followed by a walk round this...

We arrived in Oloron just as the biggest boot fair was packing up which was useful as the hotel parking is on the town square just outside. We met the owner and were shown to a very modern room which belied the quaint exterior. All mod cons were there and when we asked about places to eat we decided to...

We stayed here for two nights on a visit to see the Grande Prix Historique in Pau. This is an atmospheric charming B&B with a welcoming and friendly host who went out of his way to help in any way he could. The breakfast was first class accompanied by tasty freshly made pancakes. Highly recommended.

This simple B&B has great charm. We enjoyed an outstanding dinner at 20 euros including wine and had a very good breakfast. Pleasant and friendly staff. Wifi didn't reach our room but was good elsewhere.

We liked the room, with a comfortable bed and a modern bathroom. Having reserved the evening meal we were expecting more for the price. There were before-dinner drinks and a nice taboule salad as a starter. The actual main dish was supposed to be something typical of the region but it was rather poor, consisting of a sausage, a slice...

“I would suggest that all rooms would be as good as the two we had. The one at the front overlooked the square and the one at the rear the back garden and countryside. Don't forget to visit the LINDT Chocolate factory store and don't forget to ask Patrick to take you for a country walk.”
