It has been a few months since my stay with dear Terri at her fabulous chambres d'hôtes, La Lanterne, and because of how hectic life can be it's taken me this long to write my very first TripAdvisor review. However, La Lanterne was that moving - it was imperative I do so. The fact that La Lanterne (and Terri) still...

My daughter and I visited Sarlat-La-Caneda in the Dordogne and Black Perigord region in early October of 2016. After diligent research, my daughter chose Terri Bowen's La Lanterne for our 4 day stay. Sarlat transports you back to 14th century France. It is a town developed around a large Benedictine Abbey with picturesque, narrow, cobbled streets and lanes, architectural treasures...

In October of 216 my wife and I spent wonderful 8 days in this BNB in Sarlat using it as a home base to explore the area. It turned out to be the highlight of our visit. The Location was ideal, just 75yds from main square. Terry the proprietress not made our stay very pleasant, but our stay with her...

We stayed six nights at La Lanterne and hated to leave. Starlet's beautiful old medieval towers, its cobblestone streets, and bustling markets are right outside Terri Bowen's big old wooden door, and guests are given their own old-fashioned key upon arrival. Inside the well-restored 1502 house, the furniture and wall hangings reflect Starlet's long history and are tastefully chosen, while...

This B and B is a treasure. Delightful rooms, clean and comfortable and centrally located only a few minutes walk from restaurants and shops. We loved relaxing in the courtyard at the end of the day with a glass of wine. Terri provided a beautiful breakfast. She is a warm and welcoming host and we really appreciated her knowledge and...

La Lanterne, a very short walk from Sarlat's center, is a wonderful B&B in a 16th (?) century building with 21st century conveniences and a most convivial host, Terri Bowen. Our room had 2 stories: the downstairs includes the bathroom, a small sitting area, and a beverage counter; upstairs is incredibly charming with a window, a balcony, and the limestone...

We spent a wonderful 5 nights at La Lanterne. Terri was very welcoming and made us feel like part of the family. Nothing was too much trouble. We also met her two dogs and also her grandchildren, who were staying for a holiday. Terri gave advice on where to eat in Sarlat, day trips around the Dordogne area, as well...

Our experience at La Lanterne would be hard to beat. Terri is a warm , welcoming and personable host, ready to share her knowledge and experience of this beautiful town. Her recommendations and warnings re restaurants were spot on as was her excellent recommendation for a guide for the wider region. We were treated to delicious, fresh breakfast each morning...

Terri welcomed us from the very beginning of our stay at La Lanterne. She helped us with car parking & offered us a free drink upon arrival. Terri also advised us of places to visit & see during our stay in Sarlat. The room, albeit a little small ( I believe other rooms are bigger), was comfortable, including the bed....

We enjoyed staying at our B and B, the Tapestry room, with its cozy and modern room overlooking a narrow and quiet alley. We were met by Terry, along with Frodo and Phibi. The breakfasts were out standing: local pastry, bread and granola, yogurt, fresh fruit and eggs, if requested. Our anticipation of Sarlat's architecture and food surpassed our expectations....
