We stayed for three nights at the Madrigal hotel. It was an easy ten minute walk into the medieval town of Sarlat. We spent a Wednesday morning in that town at the bi-weekl;y market. Sitting on a terrace with a cafe creme was a wonderful opportunity for people watching. The hotel is good value for money. Parking is right behind...

Stayed here for 4 nights while visiting the Dordogne. Hotel Le Madrigal was an excellent choice. The location is just a short walk from the ancient part of the town. The rooms are very comfortable. I really appreciated the double paned windows! Although Avenue de Selves does not have an abundance of traffic, the windows really reduced the noise from...

Le Madrigal is well-located on the edge of the busy centre of Sarlat, has nice rooms with ensuite, and the manager and staff were very helpful. Rated as a 2-star, but consider it as a 3-star ; a pleasant experience there for us for our 5 nights.

Small hotel but had everything we needed. Warm and friendly welcome and lovely central location in a beautiful area. The rooms were old-fashioned but that added to the charm. Didn't eat at the hotel so couldn't comment on the food but the restaurant looked quaint and interesting. Private parking at the back including a covered rack for the motorbikes (which...

The location was very good, within walking distance of market, good restaurants. Our room was not luxurious but clean and comfortable. Lots of off-street parking. We bought the breakfast and found it a good value - lots of nice options and a pretty little dining room. Free wifi. Friendly proprietor, helpful with recommendations.

This hotel is an incredible value. The location is superb. The rooms are really nice and clean. The staff is exceptionally helpful. Sarlat is the perfect base for exploring the Dordogne.

Two mature couples travelling through France and we were lucky enough to find Le Madrigal. The staff could not do enough for us, including supplying a bucket of ice for our own wine and a kettle to make a cuppa. Off street parking was also a bonus. Very central location, excellent what more could you want!

Initially we thought we might have made a mistake. We were given our room key and not given a chance to ask any questions. After that we barely saw any staff. The stairs were tight and steep...a bit of an obstacle when heavily pregnant. But then the room was delightful. It was a good size, stylishly furnished and decorated and...

A great find, very central and convenient. The building oozes character and made an ideal alternative to a hotel stay.

Quaint and cute rooms, fairly spacious bathroom and bedroom area. Clean. Friendly hotel manager. We loved the convenience of the parking at the rear--just make sure you gun the engine to make it up the incline. Pretty good stay. The major drawback is the noise. As with all hotels we stayed at in France, the floors, walls and doors are...
