Stayed here for 4 nights with friends in May. The hotel is lovely. However, some of the rooms are a little dated and dark. The wifi rarely works on the rooms. €70 per night is quite a lot given this doesn't include breakfast. Lovely terrace on the river but €5 euros for a coffee! Bought a bottle of wine in...

This is a place to come for a special lunch, or to treat yourself on holiday. Does not try to compete with the dozens of eateries offering good cooking at attractive prices, but stands by its excellent cuisine. Not cheap, but you never feel intimidated by the first class service where everything comes on time exactly as you ordered it....

The restaurant at the hotel we were staying at was closed on the night we there so they recommended the Charbonnel restaurant in the nearby town of Brantome. It turned out to be a gem. My wife had the 4 course menu while I settled for 3 courses. For the initial course my wife went with the smoked salmon with...

Everything about this hotel is lovely, the location on the river is beautiful the staff are polite and helpful and the spacious rooms are tastefully decorated in classic, French style. Breakfast was served in the restaurant overlooking the river and was absolutely perfect, a far cry from the usual free for all at a hotel buffet. So nice to have...

This is the second time we've visited and the food has been excellent on both occasions We have always visited during the week. There are at least 3 menus available all great value. We had lobster salad, turbot and profiteroles for €49

Visiting Brantome for the first time with friends, we decided to have the fixed price lunch - we assumed it was three courses as per the menu outside, oh how wrong we were... It was a wonderful dining adventure from the two pre-starter dishes, the palate cleansing sorbet, between starter and main, and then the two appetizer dishes prior to...

We have been coming to this fabulous restaurant for many years now, it is our favourite in France. Les Freres Chabrol have now either retired or sadly passed away but still in safe family hands the restaurant continues to provide an excellent meal at very affordable prices. One dines on a very romantic balcony/terrace overlooking the river on very delicious...

Great location for both the town and as a base to see the northern part of the Dordogne. Close to lots of restaurants, across the canal with easy access to the Abbey. The Hotel itself is quite old, our room overlooked the canal which was very picturesque, however no air-conditioning was a problem as we were close to the bridge...

Outstanding food and very good service. It's a few years since we've been to Brantome and were delighted to find the restaurant is as good as ever. Recommend the cocktail du maison as an aperitif. Booking recommended.

We were spending a couple of weeks in a gite about 50 miles away and visited Brantome for the day but felt so at home that we booked into this hotel for the night. We had a room overlooking the river which was a bonus as the view was lovely. We ate in the restaurant and the food was superb....
