We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel and had the 'Grand Roman' room who has a private big terras. The view from the terras is magnificent! The hotel is 3 minutes walking from the center of Barr where you have several different good restaurants (Jardin d'olives is great) and a touristic info point. We took the breakfast twice in...

Terrible service and unfriendly! After several correspondence via email and phone calls, we arrived there only to find that they had put us (family of 5) into rooms on different floors! ( steps only). When we asked why and how this happened, we got a very mild 'desole!' That night my son got sick, so we were up and down...

A big group of friends, loudly speaking all sorts of languages and coming from different countries... Our recent long WE in "Le Manoir" was lovely and the nice weather during the annual wine festival in Mittelbergheim surprised us pleasantly. While the hotel's rooms are very cosy / romantic and the breakfast - exceptional, it can get pretty sticky on hot...

The grandeur of the building is fabulous but as many have stated, quite notably those out of season such as us, the staff are not that engaged with the role or their customers. We arrived, loved the look and feel of the room and booked an extra night - prematurely it turned out. We stayed in the apartment which is...

Beautiful manor House in Barr on the famous wine Route. The House is lovely, breakfast room, garden and common room very well kept and clean. Our room wasn't one the best though, maybe because we were just passing through, it was extremely small, no wardrobe in the room. Staff was rather cold and impersonal. Maybe it was the wrong time...

Six of us arrived tired after a long walk carrying rucksacks but had to wait quite a time for attention.I agree with the previous comment that the owners had a very casual attitude to the tasks involved with running a hotel and later that evening saw a woman who had been ringing a bell in order to check in for...

The name, tariff and external grandness of the building led us to believe that we were staying at a well-run, professional hotel. Nothing could be further from the truth. The owners/operators appear to treat it as a part-time, casual business. For a place this size we were surprised to arrive at a sign saying that reception did not open until...

A charming hotel ruled by a a happy family in a very beautiful house with painted ceilings. The rooms are clean and well furnished, although a little outdated. The breakfast is excellent and can be served in a beautiful room or outside (reserve in advance). The tiny city of Barr is a good spot to visit the region, half way...

Our family of four from Canada booked a room through booking.com. When we arrived we were offered two rooms for the same price which worked out better. This hotel was built in 1928 and has the charm of and older hotel with a grand staircase and afternoon tea. Rooms were average size with a beautiful view of Alsace vineyards. This...

Really quaint, lovely hotel and Barr is the perfect base for road trips through the Alsace region. Try and get a Grand room if you can, its worth the little bit more. Breakfast is amazing. The hotel wasnt too helpful with providing travel tips but there is a tourist info within walking distance and they have great maps and english...
