I paid for an additional night at a discounted rate - I was issued 3 x different invoices, showing different amounts charged and paid:) Aust booking agent processed refund. I have a dispute with the Monkey Bar re overcharges - I have sent numerous emails & not received any conclusion, resolution of itemised list of charges, as was requested. The Aust booking agent and Monkey Bar employee replied on different occasions, quoting Karma and how honest the village is - not very professional responses. Aust booking agent adv she would refund the amount i was overcharged out of her own pocket, said my query was causing much stress to the staff, replied later with ' i cannot assist you' - then advised me to go back to The Monkey Bar in person, and resolve issue - why would I incurr further charges re transport costs and my time - to go back? The Aust booking agent has put this into the ' too hard basket' but is more than happy to get commission for each booking. There is a previous negative review also - also mentions the honesty of staff:))…
PROS: Photos do not do justice to how beautiful this hotel is. One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in. The villas are gorgeous and have mesmerizing views. The pool area is stunning. We had a private pool villa (which was amazing), but we realized that the common pool at the hotel is just as beautiful and with a mere six villas in total, it's never crowded. The entire property is teeming with flowers and greenery and has a super charming vibe to it. Monkey Bar restaurant adjacent to the hotel is a must-visit for the views and the vibe. If your stay is inclusive of breakfast, you'd get breakfast vouchers for this place. They also give you discount vouchers for the spa located at Monkey Bar, but the massage prices at this spa were already 3-4 times that of normal Ubud/Sidemen rates so we decided to skip it. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Wayan and Minggu helped arrange a cab and boat onward to Nusa Penida on the last day of my stay (when it seemed certain that I would be missing the last daytime boat to the island) It was a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of Seminyak and Canggu. CONS (or rather "NOT CONS BUT NOT QUITE PROS"): The place is on a hilltop, consequently, it is isolated from the rest of civilization. Be prepared to book a taxicab if you wish to head anywhere from the hotel. Make sure to carry all that you would need during your stay with you before heading up the hill. Snacks, liquor, beers, mosquito repellent, that kind of stuff. The optimal way to stay here is to use it for a rest break: a day or two between your busy itinerary. Keep 1 or 2 nights dedicated to just spending in the hotel and just relaxing, and then continue onward with your itinerary. Planning day trips while staying at this hotel can be cumbersome. The restaurant, being the only place to eat in the vicinity, is priced a bit higher than anything you'd normally encounter in Ubud and around. The views and the beauty of the place totally justify the price, though the food isn't anything extraordinary. Cycling is the only activity on offer. If you're looking at a longer stay (longer than 2-3 nights), you might find activities offered in the area to be limited. But honestly, I am probably nitpicking. Overall, I'd rate it as a 10/10 Must Visit. I'd definitely be coming here again.…
During my stays in Bella Kita Resort, there was a big wasp hidden in the high ceiling of the bathroom. I did not notice it until the last night of my stays past midnight. The room is far too big for a solo traveler. The room has very basic amenities, considered this resort is luxury staged. It is a ripped off staying at this luxury resort with only the shampoo and towels amenities provided. The room has no vanity table or even a writing table. Besides cycling, there are no further activities having the resort located in a remote complex location. You can't go anywhere without pre-arranged taxi that are more expensive charged by the resort. The SPA is poorly managed and the SPA staffs require more training not even knowing what is deep tissue therapy massage is? There is only one restaurant with lovely view but the staff service is ordinary. With such high room rate, you can find a better lovely accommodation elsewhere.…
We saw this retreat being built and were looking forward to staying there. It's great to get away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta/Legian and experience the "real Bali". The rooms are large, great swimming pool and friendly staff. It was good to have meals at The Monkey bar which is a short walk from the Retreat. This is a "must" when you visit Bali.
We booked for one night after seeing all the pictures on Instagram. It’s a great place to stay if you are going over to Gili Islands and getting the boat over from Padangbai. The staff at the villa where very friendly as was our pick up driver. We got the last room that was available and we were really happy with it. Large, spacious, great bathroom with stone bath. No complaints. Beautiful pool with mountain back drop, no one around. Obviously the major draw card for the resort is the the monkey bar which we had lunch and dinner. It’s a great venue and not too busy. I really enjoyed my time here. Good food and drinks. The thing that brings it down are the staff, while the are polite they are so so lazy!!! So many finished drinks not being picked up and left hanging around while they are all at the bar texting on there phones. We would have drank 4 times more if staff service was better. We were constantly chasing them (literally) to place orders. Training needed! Still a great time. …
We stayed in villa 3 for two nights, this has a lovely balcony but no private pool. The villa was lovely and spacious, beautifully decorated. The resort is split between the villas and the Monkey Bar which is a 5 minute walk away. Both locations have infinity pools that overlook the valley and the Indian Ocean beyond. The service at Monkey Bar was lovely, and the food was great. One caution - the location is super remote and there’s nothing a quick walk nearby. This is great if you’re looking to really cut off and just be in a luxurious, natural setting. We arrived post-8 pm, by which time the Monkey Bar was closed and no food was available. So if you arrive late, be sure to grab dinner on the way. Otherwise, the place is lovely!
We went to the Monoey Bar at Bella Kits mountain resort for the afternoon and decided to inspect the villas. There are o of 6 villas and most have spectacular views from the top of Abah Mountain. They have some basic cooking facilities, outdoor open air bathroom and are spacious. You have breakfast and food at the Monkey Bar and it served beautiful food. We will be back and definitely booking to stat for 3 or 4 nights. What a great find.
I am a solo traveller and I am not regret to chosen Bella Kita Mountain Retreat and Spa in Klongkung for my first resort and first visit Bali also! If you are looking for a specious space villa on the mountain with the separate bedroom and living room plus proper kitchen outdoor for your retreats and learning local village culture I am highly recommended this resort and there is only one resort there with one restaurant and bar. There are only 6 villas in total so dont worry about the crowd! As there was only two villas occupied during my stay so I feel very peaceful and private! All staffs are very friendly and helpful. You will feel very warm welcome there like a family! I did bicycle tour at the hotel and Minggu was my tour guide for half day trip! We went though the village near the resort to learn and see how local people living in daily life and everyone are very friendly! I would recommended to try this activity as it was very interesting plus fit and firm! After bicycle your of cause I did two hours massage at resort spa and chilling with the stunning view and sunset at Monkey Bar! It was a lovely day! I have met Dicky the owner on my last day stayed there. He was amazing nice! and I love the concept of the resort plus he hired all staffs from the small village around the resort! It is good to blend the business with the local culture and people there can earn more money to support their family also! I would like to big thanks for all staffs especially Minggu front office man who helped me in everything from arrival until departure. Karya is the best driver who will take a good care of you for the transportation and dont worry if your a lady traveling alone you will be safe there :) Ps. As there is quite remote resort in the jungle and restaurant close early in low season around 8 pm so if you want some snacks recomend to buy somewhere before you come to the resort. It take around 1.30 to 2 hours from the airport but from Ubud will take around an hour depends on traffic. I will definitely back to stay there again. :) All the best and well done Bella Kita team! We stayed in villa 6 with the private pool (which is quite large), this peaceful getaway was perfect start to our holiday in Bali. 4 nights enjoying the rainforest backdrop allowed us to really relax & unwind before embarking on exploring busier locations in Bali for the second half of our trip. We highly recommend this place if you need to get away and recharge. The staff are so friendly and the food served by Monkey Bar is delicious, well portioned and priced appropriately. For one of our dinners we opted for a romantic dinner served on the private upper deck of Monkey Bar. We had the whole place to ourselves and must say the main course of Salmon was Devine!
This is paradise... had a night in the suite with the private pool. So peaceful and beautiful up amongst the tree tops. The pictures do not do it justice. And to top it off the Monkey Bar next door... OMG
