I stayed at the Khum Lanna lodge (not the Lisu Lodge or Lahu Outpost) with my girlfriend in July 2009, and our time there was one of the highlights of our trip to Thailand and Laos. We did the "Thai Country Living - 3 days / 2 nights" option, and loved it. The lodge itself was great - comfortable rooms,...

Lisu Lodge was a wonderful place for our family to stay. We had three young children with us, so chose the "soft adventure" before we headed up to Mae Hong Son. The design is of a traditional Lisu hut with bamboo and thatched roof. All meals are taken outside and the lodge is run by members of the local Lisu...

Superb experience. Worth paying for private guide. Highlights were: Lahu outpost (just incredible bamboo structure and spending evening with village children falling asleep by our sides as their mothers massaged our aching bodies after our long walk to get to this magical place). Sleeping in an incredibly hospitable villagers home in the midday heat, after he had made us tea...

It is with interest that I've read the mixed reviews of Lisu Lodge. We stayed here as part of a two night 'Soft Adventure' through Asian Oasis. The lodge and its grounds were lovely, very beautiful and relaxing. Though spartan, I found our room to be just fine. When 'the boy' set up our mosquito net at night it was...

Lisu Lodge is an eco resort purporting to give the traveller a taste of real Thailand in a real lodge with local people. On first impressions it is a beautiful setting, very tranquil, we were led to our lodge through landscaped gardens where you can pick lychees from the trees. The lodge itself is a large wooden thatched structure with...

If you are a fan of doing nothing but have a partner interested in various activities the Lisu Lodge/ Khum Lanna packages could be perfect for you. We did the 3 day/2 night package which includes stays at both places, a variety of activities, delicious food and wonderfully relaxed, comfortable, sleep with the windows open under a mosquitoe net surrounded...

This is really more a review of the "soft adventure" program than just the hotel - because I think that's the only way that you would be staying at the Lisu Lodge. First off, the program is FANTASTIC and I highly highly recommend that. It is inclusive of all of your travel, activities, guides (they have guides who speak several...

We stayed for 2 nights in Lisu Lodge. It was a very relaxed atmosphere with friendly local people working at the lodge. The rooms are simple, made from bamboo and wood. We had no warm water although it was broken only in our building. From here you can visit the Akha village on walking distance. The food was delicious and...

My family and I spent one night up at Lisu Lodge. The adventure program that we selected of theirs was interesting and good fun---rafting, elephant rides, village visits, and mountain biking. For folks visiting Thailand for the first time, you get a lot of variety with the help of a guide and a planned program. We live in Asia and...

We stayed at Lisu Lodge as part of the two day 'hilltribe experience' organised by East West Siam in Chiang Mai. Our visit included a number of different activities (mountain biking, elephant-riding, ox-carts and visits to shaman and medicinal herb gardens) with one night at Lisu Lodge, which we really loved. It's not as remote as we had expected, located...
