I usually use hotels as a means to an end - a place to stay while I visit what i came for. This is one of those rare places where you wish you stay several days longer just to enjoy the building and all the guided walks (with a naturalist) in the surrounding nature park, the Ayarvedic massage area, and just hanging out on the many terraces, and walking through the lawns with flowering trees along lotus-filled pools. The service was impeccable - always available, and never intrusive. The vast choices for the buffet breakfast was a good way to start the day. Instead of bottled water, with its attendant plastic waste, every room is equipped with a reverse osmosis water filtration system. There is a minibar, but its contents come with the room. Indeed, although I had 2 gourmet dinners in a reserved balcony pavilion above the insect level, I was charged only for the wine. So much here is included. I would look forward to coming back here.

We visited the Evolve Back Hampi in November 2024 (apologies for the delayed review!) and our experience from arrival, after a long dusty 7 hour car journey from South Goa, a wonderful unexpected touch of well curated welcoming thoughtful detail as we passed through the gates .. I won’t spoil the surprise.. which even drew a small gasp of delighted appreciation from our road weary driver, to then being greeted so gracefully by the warm and welcoming Evolve Back team on the steps of the hotel was nothing short of perfection. The checking in process was without question the smoothest and fastest I have experienced anywhere, no sooner were we escorted to a cool private reception lounge and served a delicious refreshing drink than we were calmly whisked away to our room. The room did not disappoint, if anything it was even better than the images on screen when we booked many months before, immaculately presented with house chef prepared sweet treats, on tap filtered water (how wonderful and how truly eco friendly) excellent coffee and tea making room facilities. An enormous bed with crisp sheets and a choice of pillows. A large bathroom and outside on the balcony a jet pool which I made very good use of following the long but utterly worthwhile road journey, the swallows swooped as the sun began to set, it was truly magical. But even more magical moments were to follow with the evening ceremony procession drifting through the hallways we fell upon on our way to dinner .. an ethereal and almost otherworldly sight, not to be missed. Our food experiences were also faultless and the service level from the reception staff, room service and the sudden appearance of the delightful on site buggy drivers during a unexpected monsoon downpour to whisk us back to reception one evening was absolutely outstanding, every wish, even those we didn’t have a chance to form yet were met and delivered with such grace and warmth. The entire experience was one of quite perfectly curated and delivered understated luxury, the atmosphere was peace and tranquility and I never wanted to leave. We were also given the service of a driver and jeep to tour us through the incredible Hampi UNESCO site, a bucket list item of mine and that in itself is a memory that will never be surpassed. If I have one wish it is to return and perhaps spend more time, three days was never going to be enough. We will be back of this I am certain. With best wishes and thanks to all at Evolve Back Hampi Lorraine and Tim

It's not a hotel, it's an experience. From the moment you drive into the hotel, you are showered with flowers (literally). We were given refreshing welcoming drinks and the checkin experience was very smooth. The hotel staff is very polite and helpful and gave us a tour of the grounds. We had booked Nilaya Room. The balcony view was amazing, and the in house jacuzzi was a cherry on the top of the cake. The room was decked with beautiful interiors, fresh fruits for snacks, local sweets, and a mini-bar full of soft-drinks. The washrooms are stylish and spacious. The property is built in regal Vijaynagara style architecture and is really a marvel. Apart from the beautiful rooms, the hotel offers a lot of amenities that make spending time at the property very fun. You can enjoy a nature walk in the morning with an in house Naturalist, who is very well informed, spend the day in the pool sipping amazing cocktails and sit in for a storytelling session by the in house Historian in the evening. We didn't get a chance to experience the spa but their offerings were expansive and fit in perfectly with the theme of Indian heritage - offering a lot of ayurvedic treatments. All in all a place that is perfect place to spend a few days with your loved ones, be it parents or your partner. Bonus Tip: Make reservation at their Bahamani restaurant in advance as there are limited seats.

During our recent stay at Evolve Back, Hampi we were absolutely blown away by the outstanding service provided by the staff. We were a group of 20, from the moment we arrived, we were treated with the utmost care and professionalism, making our stay truly unforgettable.
The front desk team set the tone for our visit with their warm welcome and efficient check-in process. Awesome work by Aneesh, Sreedhar, Salma, Nousheeda and team!
Housekeeping was impeccable, maintaining our room to the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort. They were always friendly and attentive to our requests, going above and beyond to make sure our accommodations were spotless and well-stocked. A big thank you to Nagaraja, Siddappa, Thipamma and the team!
Dining at the resort was a delight, thanks to the head chef and the exceptional waitstaff. They were attentive, personable, and consistently provided service with a smile. Every meal was a culinary experience, enhanced by their professionalism and attention to detail.

We stayed at Evolve Back Hampi from September 7th to 10th, and it was a great experience. When we arrived, we were welcomed with rose petals on the car, a traditional Tilak, garland, a welcome drink, and chocolate-stuffed dates. Noushida helped with our check-in and showed us around the property. She was friendly and made us feel welcome.
We stayed in the Zenana Suite, and it was even better than the pictures online. The suite had a huge bathroom, a separate dining and living area, a bedroom, and a private garden with a sitting area. The jacuzzi was temperature-controlled, and the minibar had complimentary soft beverages and snacks, which were restocked daily. The bed was big and comfortable, and they had a pillow menu. The toiletries were high quality, and there was an RO water filter in the room.
Mustapa, who did the housekeeping, was very helpful and took care of all our requests. Our toddler loved the family pool and the jacuzzi in our room. There’s also an adult pool for quieter swimming.
The breakfast spread was elaborate and well thought out, with everything you could possibly need to start your day right. Even the evening high tea had a lovely variety of snacks and treats to enjoy. The dining experience was excellent throughout.
While we’ve mentioned a few staff members by name, the entire staff was friendly, helpful, and always had a smile on their face, making our stay even more special.
We ate at both restaurants—Tuluva, which is open all day, and Bahamani, which is open for dinner. The food at both was excellent, and Jijo at Bahamani, along with Vinay and Saurav at Tuluva, made sure we had everything we needed.
We also used the resort’s historian service to help us explore the local area. Anmesh arranged a guide for us, and we did three guided tours, which were very informative.
A special touch was how they made our toddler happy by surprising him with a soft toy and bedtime stories on a couple of nights.
Yes, it’s on the luxury end, but it’s well worth it. We’ll definitely return if we visit Hampi again!

We stayed at Evolve Back Hampi for 2 nights and had a great time during our stay. We were impressed with the allocation of a personal contact point - Ms.Nagaratna, who helped us with things from room service, reservation of table, and any other requirements at the property. She was available via WhatsApp and it eased our communication and coordination during the stay.
The Jal Mahal room is phenomenal with an incredible amount of space and our own private pool. Each room is equipped with a water filter tap which is a very thoughtful act, completely eliminating plastic bottles and being able to have access to unlimited water at any time of the day. This is far better than having glass bottles in the room but having to call housekeeping to keep replacing them. We were able to fill the bottles by ourselves at our convenience.
There is a French Press Coffee maker provided in the room along with their own brand of coffee powder and detailed instructions on how to use it. I definitely enjoyed making a freshly brewed cup of coffee in the morning, and seeing birds and squirrels playing outside the room, by the poolside.
The shop is charming with interesting souvenirs and we bought their coffee powder to take back home with us. They had a few gifting options too. There is a lovely library/reading area too where we spent some reading our books and the staff there provided us with tea/coffee.
The Pushkarni dinner was superb! There was Traditional Music and live Dance Performance by the poolside, with lovely decor. Overall, the ambience was very well curated for the evening. The food was excellent with a large range of dishes available along with a live kebab and roti counter too. The staff are very well versed with the food available and guided us to try the local rotis - made with Ragi, Akki, etc and we were glad that they did - those rotis were excellent! Teja from the restaurant staff was helpful.
Late at night, we were able to see stars in the sky and spot some constellations, thanks to the unpolluted skies.
Highly recommend the property! Its a great trip from Hyderabad and took us around 8 hours to reach via road.

If you want a taste of what life was like for the royals at Vijayanagar empire , then step into Evolve Back , Kamalapura Palace where you will be welcomed by a retinue of staff and treated to a delicious welcome drink, and then escorted to your royal chambers . The room was spacious, luxurious and very comfortable. Attention to every detail, like providing a pair of small scissors to cut the coffee packets and plenty of snacks to munch on that weren’t chargeable . The housekeeping staff, Mohammed, Said and their teams were constantly on their toes keeping the rooms impeccable. They even had a small Will Miss You message laid out with palm leaves the night before we checked out. The food was excellent and Sous chef Prakash, The Chef and their team went out of the way to ensure we had a wonderful dining experience . The in-house activities like story telling, nature walk with an exceptional guide , Abhijeet and the buffet dinner at night by the pool with live music with a flutist, tabla player and a bharatanatyam dancer made for a very memorable and almost magical stay.

5/5. This is a top end resort which we used as our base to explore Hampi (10m drive) and Badami-Aihole (3hrs drive). Overall everything worked well. The booking process was efficient and communication was good. The Hubali airport pickup was seamless with a good car. We were welcomed in traditional fashion and taken to a lovely large room with a balcony. The resort is full of flowers and greenery. Huge bathrooms ! One morning we went for the hot air balloon ride which should not be missed (even if expensive). It gives a great Birds Eye view of the entire Hampi complex. Food was excellent and extensive whether it was breakfast or the open air dinner under the stars with a Bharatanatyam dance. We interacted with the chefs who were keeping a close eye and very responsive to requests. They have a spa which gives good massages in a pleasant setting.
In any resort the staff make all the difference and here everyone from front office to housekeeping to banquet staff and even the head chef was on the ball and made every effort to cater to our requirements. We had a single point contact ms Megha who was very responsive. Thank you.

Our experience was really wonderful, short of words to explain. The kindness and attentiveness of staff, and some even going out of their responsibility zone to help, made this 7 days stay the most relaxing & pleasant a bit of homely experience. Delicious food, accompanied activities, Ayurvedic Spa, dinner time soothing music, and ever smiling and comforting staff added crowns of charm to this majestic palace, bringing back the glimpse of the lost empire.
A palace without loveliness is like a desert, and the loveliness comes from the living beings around the place... Evolve back has its excellent workforce. Some of these people needs special mentions:
Overall the food and beverages and choices were very good. I loved my glass of water with lemon, mint leaves and ice.
Chef Prakash ensured we experience and experiment with our taste buds which gave an excellent ever lasting impacts. Musician Keshav Raj played mesmerizing soothing numbers that also included our chosen ones, this fit well the ambience and our dining experience. Saurabh Bist and Saurav always served us well. Krithika, Ruthi were all smiling and welcoming well to the dining area. I am sorry I have missed a couple of names here.
One small remark, we missed to understand if we had to pay for the drinks and snacks that served in the minibar in the room, during our welcome. Again Chef Prakash possibly one of the remarkable friendly human being we came across. In his personal time, he even accompanied me to the Matanga hills, which otherwise I would not have visited.
Rajashekhar, Kiran Kumar and Mustafa ensured our room was always remained clean and crystal clear. The special towel foldings to please our daughter was really nice. Bablu Singh ensured special attention is given to get necessary medicines for our daughter as she became a bit sick.
Thanks to the morning yoga classes we felt rejuvenated for our daily activities and discovered the benefits of this ancient indian mastery - thanks to Linush Babu. I enjoyed my Spa experiences and the treatments to my shoulder thanks Halesh, Mukesh and Hasan.
Evening stories and the trail walk with your historians especially Veeresh just kicked off our historic visit with very interesting note. Veeresh also felt the need of a good french speaking guide and organized an excellent French speaking guide for our next days.
Ruthi was very kind and very friendly at the reading area. I really enjoyed my talk with her and understood the life in the north east of India, especially Manipur.
Renuka was always available for all our needs on the mobile phone and ensured a spacial attention is given to our daughter when she was sick with a delicious cakes. It is really kind and these gestures made our stay special.

My husband and I stayed at Evolve Back Hampi for 3 nights in April 2024 in a Nivasa room. We had an amazing time in Hampi and the Evolve Back resort was a luxurious experience from start to finish. We arrived by overnight train and took a cab to the hotel, arriving in the morning. Although it was early in the day, the hotel staff greeted us warmly and sat us down to breakfast whole they prepared our room, recognising that we were hungry and tired after our train journey. They went above and beyond to check us in early, which was completely unexpected as we hadn't requested it and very much appreciated. Our room was ready a short time later and we were immediately impressed by the size and elegance of the space. Our room was so comfortable, with a huge bed, soft seating areas, amazing outside jacuzzi on the private terrace, and gorgeous bathroom. We were in Hampi during an exteme heatwave and the comfort of our room and jaccuzi was such a delight - it was a cool retreat from the midday sun. Beyond our room, the hotel as a whole is beautiful and built in a style that captures the history of the area and the grandeur of Hampi way back when. The attention to detail both in the design and daily care made this a really special place to stay. I won't spoiler things too much with details but there are so many thoughtful little touches everywhere you go to add something extra to your experience. The main swimming pool is a lovely place to cool off in the hot weather and has a lovely setting between one of the restaurants and the pond. It's a great place to spot birds from as they swoop around the pond. The food and restaurants were all wonderful and we ate very well during our stay. Our package included breakfast and dinner but in reality it was full board as they serve a complimentary afternoon tea every day and that was more than enough for us for lunch. The package we chose was good value and I'd really recommend checking the hotel website directly for deals when you're booking as it worked out much cheaper than booking sites when we compared. There are lots of experiences to bed had at Evolve Back Hampi, some.of which are complimentary and others are chargeable but you can find all the details on their website. The tours, which are chargeable, were excellent and we went on three in total as we enjoyed them so much. The staff are so friendly and helpful in arranging everything that it makes life very easy. In fact, the only niggle I have with this hotel is that sometimes the staff can be a little too keen to help and it can feel a little intrusive at times if you're just enjoying yourself and relaxing and they are messaging to check if you need anything or want them to book anything for you. I think it's clear they just want to ensure you have a great stay and feel like a VIP but it's not necessary because they're always on hand when needed and that's enough to feel well looked after - the extra attention was a bit too much for us. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend Evolve Back Hampi if you're visiting the area, which you definitely should as the history and scenery are amazing.
