The food you will get at the restaurant is amazing, all local products and sophisticated recipes in a simple old fashioned west Norwegian setting. The rooms at the hotel are ok, good beds but only 8 Norwegian tv channels. It doesn't matter because the food is worth the stay!

The older part of this hotel is magnificient. Gorgeous room with old lace bedspreads, lampshade, and wallpaper, bathroom is equally well appointed. Only one small lift but the hotel is only three floors high in all. Lovely location near main shops and waterfront. Food at breakfast and evening meal was top notch.

Gloppen Hotel, located in Sandane near Nordfjord, is an old hotel built following the influx of British gentlemen fishing salmon in the 19th century. Today it contains a modern expansion and an expansion from the 70s. We stayed in one of the modern rooms which was spacious, clean and calm. Breakfast was good, focusing on local produce, though not completely...

The hotel is nice and very comfortable, weather was lovely when we were there, July 2016, sat in the garden and had a beer or two. It was a decent overnight stop but the rest of the town is a non event. There is only one other place, apart from the hotel, to eat, and it was a rather second...

Thankyou for your response. If you are looking for city-buzz, than yes, Sandane is definitly not the place. But if you are looking for beautiful surroundings, nature right by your door-step, peace and quiet, Sandane is a good choice. We are located in the middle of the Fjord landscape, close to both glaciers and the ocean. Also at Sandane, there...

Stayed a night at the historic part of Gloppen Hotel when driving from Bergen to Ålesund. The hotel has a historic part, where a lot of the historic furniture and decorations have been kept. Elements like the bathroom and beds have been updated though. There is also a modern part if you want modern amenities. The service at the hotel...

There is not a lot to do in Sandane, other than to walk the short distance along the waterfront. We were aware of that before booking, but it suited our itinerary to stay there. The hotel did however prove a little disappointing. A rather lukewarm welcome, a very "tired" room, a road and buildings between the hotel and fjord..... I...

Gloppen Hotel in Sandane is one of Norway's Historical Hotels, and was built in 1866. Today it has the old wing, connected to a new wing with a modern section with a glass elevator. Unlike other old hotels, you will have no problem with luggage and stairs. On our way to Bergen, we stopped for one night, and got a...

A very welcoming, well-run, well-appointed family-style hotel. Both dinner and breakfast were a gastronomic delight (many of the foodstuffs are local/regional, and quite a few of the things on offer -- like breakfast rolls and condiments -- are homemade), the service was faultless (and not overdone!), and the dining-area is divided up into several differently 'themed' rooms that invite exploration....

I stayed for four nights at this calm and very welcoming hotel in beautiful Sogn and Fjordane in Norway. My room was spacey and well furnished in a clean, northern style. Quality beds and a very nice sitting room area. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit - I had the pleasure of their fish/seafood soup along with the local...
