A bit of a challenge to find, but the instructions you get from the hotel after you've booked are very clear and we never missed a turn on the road nor got lost. As with other reviews, best to choose the smallest car you can hire from the rental company because the final stretch is a narrow, single lane road... More

We were well taken care of at this tranquil property. The views and the food alone were worth the 15 minute drive from the coast. I can not say enough about the hospitality and attention to our many questions about the region as we explored Sorrento area.

It is a bit adventurous to arrive to Masseria Astapiana as the roads are narrow and steep, with many narrow curves, but it is definitely worth the effort! What an amazing place this is, we did in fact not want to leave and we only stayed two nights. A breathtaking view over the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvio, and... More

The Villa Giusso is quite a long way up the mountain and maybe not the most luxurious of hotels, it makes up with the best view, great atmosphere and authentic Italian hospitality! This beautiful estate that used to be a monetary and for more than 200 years the residence of the Giusso family is up till this moment still ran... More

This old monastery has been beautifully restored, and is still run by the family that has owned it for hundreds for years. It's full of amazing antiques, the grounds are pristine and the sunset over the sea can't be beat. Two caveats: the roads to get there are tough (even by local standards) - very narrow and windy. And not... More

We came to Villa Giusso as a centre to visit the many historical sites in the area, but left wishing we'd had much more time sot simply rest at this beautiful, calming villa. The rooms were all different, beautiful, but full of character, giving a real sense of being invited to stay as the family have done for generations. It... More

The drive up to this magnificent setting is a feat in itself as the tiny lanes get ever narrower and steeper. But boy was it worth it? We parked just outside the grounds and wandered in to view the entire Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. A lady appeared with mad, blond hair and a warm welcome. Erminia and her... More

Lovely visit and stay for 2 nights. Lovely historic building and furnishings. We stayed 2 nights and were upgraded to the Murat suite as they weren't busy. Splendid home cooked food and astounding views from the terrace. Very helpful and English speaking owner. Only downside is that the road to it is really very narrow- we were in a medium... More

Our bedroom was spacious and characterful, on the first floor of this mountain top monastery turned into a family home in the early 19th century. The corridor outside our room had furniture and paintings from the monastery's history, leading to the terrace with fantastic views of Isola d'Ischia, the whole bay from Sorrento to Naples and Vesuvius. A brilliant place... More

This is one of those places that you will never forget - lovely rooms, delicious food and fantastic hospitaliTy from the women who run it, especially the 'Lady' of the house, Guillia, who will show you the fascinating family museum and heirlooms in the attic and the family portraits with a string of Nobel prize winners who have stayed here...
