In my fourthy year old life I have never experienced near the poor comfort and interior of a hotel. To even call this a hotel is a joke, to charge anyone for living here is even a bigger joke. The hotel is ancient, the breakfast is so shameful and poor that you couldn’t feed a stray dog with it. There’s a fan in the middle of the room, nobody knows how it works it’s just there as a part of the obscene interior. They call it bunkbed but better described as a jail cell mounted bunk. The noice from other guests is unbearable probably because they also has been driven insane by staying at this place. All in all you think you’re in a horror movie and just want to wake up from that nightmare of a hotel. Viareggio is a very nice town with great beaches, shops and restaurants and well worth a stay but take my advise, book anything but the freak house Liberty.

I had to stay here 2 nights since the travel provider booked there. Never again!! this place is obscene. It's a 1 star hotel to be generous, rooms are from another world, old and not functional furniture, bathrooms with rotten wooden door. For the shower 1 small soap bag is provided, so if you want 2 showers you need to request the reception. the hotel do not has a parking, parking is public on the street. breakfast is horrible, you better cross the road and eat sand from the beach. A/C is noisy and start at 6 PM..... I do not know how this place is still in business. I will never come back here or suggest anyone to stay here.

We stayed here as a family of 4 for one night. We were stopping over to take the ferry trip up the Cinque Terre the next day. The hotel is dated (my husband said he felt like he had stepped back in time) I quite liked it. The family room was big and the beds were comfortable. The room had reasonably good air con so it was a comfortable nights sleep for all. The hotel is on a main road and we had a room looking out over the beach so some may find this noisy at night (we didn’t we were all exhausted from travelling in the day so it was not a prob). The breakfast was really good, good selection and tasty coffee. Staff were really friendly here. Generally the hotel was a little tired and some places could have done with a dust but for beds, bathrooms and food it was all clean (key areas for me). The price of the hotel is high. We paid €200 for a family of 4 for one night but it was in August and 97% of hotels were booked up so I guess it is what it is. For us it served the purpose of a good nights sleep, easy access to the boat and dinner in the night. Not sure all the bad reviews are totally justified. If I had paid €50 less i would have given it more stars.

Hotel is ok for people with normal needs. A bit pricey. Air conditioning does not go on until 6pm and turns off around 8am. Bit fans in the rooms work if you don’t mind it a bit warm...like 28 degrees...main concierge speaks German, Italian and English. Rooms are clean, bathroom shower leaks a bit...what is common here... Mattresses are comfortable enough..breakfast buffet is the way it is here in Italy. Not the best, but ok with fresh fruits, Müsli, cheese, breads and cake. Hallways and lobby are not air conditioned. No parking in the hotel. You have to park on the street or behind alley. To get to the beach you have to cross the road. Beaches charge extra for umbrellas and chairs. Beaches with swimming pools are very expensive, very expensive. But there is a free public beach on the far left side.

The Hotel standard is👎👎👎 Everything is used. We Got room 206. ( the biggest room the hotel has, according to the reception) only Great thing is aircondition and Cleaning. We Are here right now(7/8.2018) while writing this review. We had to ask for another room as this (206) was so bad. We where offered another room (304) with sea view and bunk beds for an ekstra cost of 20euro Per Night. This room was in the same bad standard The Cleaning is ok. I feel sory for The staff.... 👍👍👍location. Beach, City and shopping - and this is What gives this hotel 3 Stars. The hotel is a 1 Star, (1/2star) 👎👎👎very old and used hotel - from reception to stairs, elevator, “restaurant”, rooms, towels, i Can continue..... 👎👎👎small rooms - No safetybox, very old and very used room, tv is crap, room 206 just next to elevator, noise from Hall and from rooms 👎👎👎very old and used small toilet - shower head holder does not work, The toilet interior is old and used, periodically hot water 👎👎👎breakfast is bad!!- bad coffee, bad old croissants from last week, bad juice The only reason we stay is that we have paid in advance (Hotel.com) we should get our money back

This was one of the cheaper hotels I looked at but booked this one. It’s right on the sea front, it’s got everything you need, bed was comfy and a decent size. Everything worked. Towels were changed every day and the staff were all absolutely amazing, spoke English and Italian and even called a taxi for us twice. They all went out of their way to make our stay perfect and it was. The view was gorgeous and the all you can eat breakfast was lovely too with a huge variety.

Positives: Staff, quiet air conditioner, location. Apart from very noisy street til 1am 2am in morning. Negatives: No hook for shower hose or screen flooding bathroom every time someone showered. Spa bath when turned on pumped all water out of air vent button all over floor. Had to get mop and bucket and mop it up ourselves. No tea or coffee making facilities in room or anywhere except breakfast. No air conditioning in any part of hotel except rooms. Breakfast room hot and steamy with meats, yogurts, cheeses, milk all left out for 2 hours in heat. Very average breakfast, everything warm and sugary apart from fruit bowl. Bed like a rock, pillows hart, no blankets just cotton bedspreads. Fridge dirty, old and not cold with no freezer. No bench in the bathroom to put anything on. The bathroom facilities felt like camping having to kneel in bath to hold hose and wash without spraying the whole bathroom. No one bothered to offer to fix the bath or seemed to care that it had flooded the bathroom. Door rot indicated it had been like this for a long time. Not good enough for the money. For 185 Euro a night for 4 people it was outrageous.

Our room was on the ground floor directly adjacent to the kitchen. No windows, although there is a door to the back alley. Bathroom was fine. The room was so cold we barely slept. I couldn't find any evidence of heat to the room. At 06:00 breakfast noises began, including suitcases rolling down the hallway above the room, and we checked out shortly thereafter. If the town had been nice, it may not have mattered much, but this was overall terrible 18-hour stop.

Stayed for a week in a lovely, artistic ,so family-orientated Viareggio. It will tick all the boxes if you're with family or freedom pass holder. Not much to write home about from being unique in their own way but rather serene stay with a lit of quiet neighbours. Break is come with my room is edibles. A chamber lady very energetic of cleaning my room on a daily basis. If you know what you want from you stay, surely you will find where the right box to tick.
