This is the a stunning and captivating traditional hotel in the most glorious part of the Italian riviera. We have been going the Grand Hotel Royal for 40 years now on yearly holidays and now with three generations. It offers everything you could ask for…. The staff are amazing and so accommodating, nothing is ever a problem. The pool is beautiful and kept pristine, with fantastic staff. We meet lots of people who have come back from previous years, that I think that speaks for itself what gorgeous place it is. An absolute must visit!!!
Stayed at the Grand Hotel Royal recently for a short family break and from the moment we arrived until we left, couldn’t find a single fault. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained in a great location. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Service was excellent and prices of food and drinks very competitive. Can’t wait to get back here again next year.
A majestic and historic building. The staff provide a very caring and attentive service. Amazing selection from the breakfast menu. Lovely heated swimming pool and sunbathing terrace with plenty of loungers.
The hotel has lots of character and lovely Art Deco features in traditional style. All the staff are welcoming and helpful and attentive to guests needs. We stayed half board, with everything you could want for breakfast but the evening meals were exceptional. The menu changes daily and throughout our 2 week stay there were very few duplicates so don’t think I’ll have that another night if something takes your fancy as it might not reappear. The cocktail bar is also a treat and the head barman attentive. We had a front room with a sea view but ask for an upper floor as we couldn’t see the sea from the room we were allocated on the first floor but we got another room when we asked. Rooms don’t necessarily have balconies either. We don’t normally return to a resort/hotel but I’ve already recommended this hotel to friends and family as we had a really lovely holiday here. I gave sleep quality 4 as air conditioning was a bit noisy.…
This is a wonderful old, grand hotel in a prime spot on the Sea front. If you like traditional style hotels this is the place for you. Decor is beautiful and classic. The staff are so friendly and attentive. We were made to feel very welcome. Spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms. Lovely, varied buffet breakfast and so much food during the evening meal. Great cocktails in the bar. Pool area is wonderful and relaxing. Can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. Would love to go back.
Still reading? This place is perfect from all the staff, food, cleanliness to the hotel itself. The large pool is great for swimming although it gets deep quickly (so keep an eye on little ones). Great visit thanks.
Stayed here three years ago and loved it. Still as good, standard of service excellent, cleanliness, excellent , great location and a beautiful building. Lovely high ceilinged room although the bath and shower is a bit tight! We stayed on a half board package and all the breakfasts and dinners were great. Niccola thanks for the Wells House cocktail, Barbara our waitress had a smile on her face always and Roberto we ordered pasta on purpose for your “Ta da” reveal!!! Emmanuele, maitre de, if we come a third time Mrs B will demand an outside table for her evening meal!!! Highly recommended all the reception staff are superb as are the cleaners and pool staff.
We booked a so called “triple room”. Beware that this is actually not. It’s just a double room with a “not so comfortable” extra bed squeezed in so you barely have room. I have never encountered a hotel that with a fair amount of decency could call this a triple room. Rooms are worn and tired. Partial sea view is an over exaggeration. Breakfast is ok, but surprisingly they lack traditional Italian food like prosciutto crudo -and jam, eggs (apart from omelette) and such. Towels are thin and bathrooms are poor and institution-like. Their aperitivo is however amazing. Location is good. Not very impressed in total, so my advice is to stay clear and find a better place.
We've just returned from our 13th annual visit to this superb hotel. Friendly staff, excellent food, very clean and comfortable rooms, relaxing ambience of a quality hotel, all the reasons why we keep returning to this excellently managed hotel. We are returning in September to top up our batteries before autumn and winter set into the UK. We can't recommend this hotel too highly.
Old style elegant hotel that is very well kept. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The park and pool exceptionally beautiful (the pool is 25 meters! ). Breakfast is for Italian standards very rich and serves everything that you wish for. The hotel is situated across the promenade and beach. If beach chairs are included then towels and seats at the beach are included. Rooms very clean and well kept. Some rooms are rather small and some have air conditioning that is very loud- but hard to avoid in an old hotel in which they are built in later on.
