Such a friendly hotel with all you need for a true Italian seaside holiday. The hotel is stylish, spotlessly clean and the breakfast has a perfect selection to fill you up for the day, including mimosa making ingredients to make it a little extra special. The hotel provides beach towels and also works with a local beach club across the road, ask reception for more details. Perfectly located to make full use of the promenade of Viareggio and within easy walking distant of the train station which you can hop on a train to visit Pisa, Florence or Luca with ease. Would happily return if we were ever to visit Viareggio again, which I am sure we will as we loved it!!

Enjoyed our 4 night stay and 1st visit to this area, 10 - 15 minute walk down from the train station (literally walk down any street you see opposite the station and you hit the promenade close to the hotel). We unfortunately had booked a room on the 1st floor with a huge window overlooking the promenade but no balcony, asked to upgrade but no balconies available - still an amazing view though. Hotel is absolutely spotless everywhere and the position is excellent, good air con in the room, lovely bar to sit in and enjoy an evening drink. Niggles were that there was no courtesy room available to shower on the last day nor were we able to keep the room longer than an extra half hour, we had to change and freshen up for the airport in the small toilet that is situated off the dining room which wasn’t great. Breakfast was very slow if ordering off the Al a Carte, and because there were tour groups booked in who ate breakfast together in groups of 10-20, the kitchen and front of house struggled to cope at busy times. On 2 days we were allocated a corner area of the restaurant near the buffet to sit in rather than being able to sit in the window where we preferred - the tour groups were given the better tables / treatment. Free Prosecco at breakfast though was a plus 🥂. Some music in the bar would have created some atmosphere - could hear a pin drop at times 🎶 All staff were very professional and friendly and we tried 3 beach clubs opposite the hotel - Irene (amazing sea food), Milano (the cheapest) and Vespucci (has a swimming pool). It was no cheaper to book the beach clubs via the hotel and we found that paying direct at the beach clubs gave better options, for example, at Milano you could opt to have no umbrella and pay less. The hotel provided us with beach towels each day at no extra charge. We visited the public beach across from the hotel also which is free but no option to book beds. Loved the Marina and the seafood street food places (5 -10 mins walk), Sa Player restaurant was our favourite (5 mins walk towards the Marina), the back streets were full of patisseries selling the amazing cakes and pastries at half the price of the promenade cafes/restaurants - also loads of shops on the backstreets and a fish market that I believe cooks outside for you at weekends but we missed this 😢. A street market was set up on the promenade across from the hotel on Thursday morning and went on for miles. 15 minutes on the train to Pisa and 25 minutes to Lucca so handy spot to explore from. Plenty to do here, will definitely return one day 🇮🇹

Fantastic hotel in stunning Viareggio, right in the middle of their beautiful promenade. Just round the corner from the station which made it so easy to explore Florence, Pisa (stunning basilica) and, have to say our favourite, Lucca (quieter and stunning San Marco). Marcello led the most terrific reception team that helped in every way and always with a presidential smile (ok getting carried away but I am writing this 4 days after we returned and am still wishing we were back there). Laila and Elena were so friendly on reception. Free deckchairs at beach across the road available. Elisa seemed to anticipate every need in the ristorante ( wonderful morning coffees served virtually as we sat down for fresh croissants each day) accompanied by the most professional Franco. Elisa! Absolute star. Rooms immaculate, sheets and towels fresh each day. Dinner was four courses…eeek…with home made pasta, fresh fish and whopping amounts of tiramisu. The kitchen cared. Chianti every night. Thank you so much all. Will return for the Carnival. Chris and Mel

Great location, nice rooms, nice breakfast. Balcony view of the beach is priceless. Beach clubs right across the street. Nice restaurants along the beachside walkway. Very spacious. An hour train ride to Cinque Terra. I knew nothing about this town or hotel - it’s now high on my list to return. Highly recommended.

Have just returned after spending 10 days here. What a stunning hotel. Beautiful decor and clean throughout. We had the classic room which was stunning with a balcony . Cleaned every day . We were half board . Plenty of choice for breakfast buffet style but also a set menu you could order off . The evening meal was four courses and plenty of choice . Absolutely stunning food . Drinks were very reasonable £16 euros for a bottle of wine. Lovely setting on the dining room . Air conditioning throughout. The bar is elegantly designed and lovely to sit it. There are 2 beachs opposite that you can hire sun beds on or just have deckchairs and parasol for free. We preferred amedus beach as much quieter and a nice beach. The owner is a lovely lady who dines every evening with the guests. There was a holiday day and everyone had a free drink and she kindly bought everyone a beautiful Italian plate wrapped up lovely. What can I say about the staff . They are all great and friendly but a few stood out with that extra bit . Nadim (also speaks fluent English) nothing was too much trouble in the bar and very friendly. Franco ( you’re welcome) in the dining room nothing was too much trouble for him. Very polite and friendly and then Elisa. She speaks fluent English and is very friendly: nothing was too much trouble . If you didn’t like any food she would offer something else and had a lovely nature about her. Her and Franco Always made us feel really comfortable when dining. The reception staff were all very helpful but one stood out for her lovely nature and sense of humour . Laila. Who also speaks fluent English .She also helped in the restraunt at times and never a dull moment when she is around, they are wonderful staff. A mention for the cleaner who seems to be there all the time. He was a fantastic cleaner. The train station is a 10 minute walk and plenty of buses near the hotel. The only negatives I have are having to pay £10 euros per day for the beach sunbed and no pool in the hotel and maybe have a change of desserts every evening. My husband and I never return to hotels but we will definitely return to this stunning hotel.

What a find!!! This is probably the nicest hotel I have stayed in: August 2023. Everything was perfect: And the bedrooms are so classy. Just a stone's throw from the lovely clean beach: Amedea. 10euro day each for sunbeds but free deckchairs. Food is amazing especially if you go half board: Al a carte. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. I have always said that I wouldn't stay in the same hotel again: But I definitely will here. 10/10

My wife and I stayed here in early August '23 as part of a half-board deal with Jet2 holidays. We struck lucky. The Hotel President deserves every one of its 4 stars (and a bit more). The hotel is a classic medium sized hotel, with smart decor and excellent services; and is a few minutes walk from private beach "Irene", a very well-run "bagno", which the hotel can book you slots for. Being centrally-situated on the seafront in the thriving seaside town of Viareggio, the hotel is a good choice for couples, grown-up families or groups of mature friends looking for a classy hotel with distinctive charm at a reasonable price. For all that, it is the staff who are the real treasure: professional and friendly, effective and helpful, but not obtrusive. From Reception (organised, effective and very helpful), through to cleaners (meticulous) and the restaurant staff (who were the stars of a very polished hotel team). The cuisine at breakfast (from a buffet with additional items on the menu) provided a huge choice of local specialities; and chef Emmanuel's daily a la carte evening dinner menu was a delight, with fish, vegetarian and meat options which were sumptuous. Franco provided gentlemanly table service with subtle panache; but the undoubted star was Elisa, who was "front of house" for both breakfast and evening meals, all bar one day of our stay. Balancing quick and watchful service with time for personalised conversations with hotel guests without lingering too long is a fine art, which Elisa had to a tee. She was the "gold medal" performer in a team all deserving to be on the podium for praise. Great ambassadors all, for the Hotel President.

It is a nicely positioned hotel in Viareggio Very close from the sea Restaurants and cafés are all around The hotel is clean Nice rooms but some of electrical appliances there are not functioning properly The air conditioner switches on and off automatically The television volume is extremely low even when the volume is at its max Breakfast is good All in all is acceptable although the prices are very high Similar hotels in other European countries are way cheaper

1st time in Viareggio and impressed with this central hotel on the beach front. Asked for a quiet room when we booked the hotel but told as beach front hotel all noisy, we were initially placed on 1st floor above kitchen which we were not happy with, however after 5 mins a new room was found and put us further up on 4th floor which was much better… Breakfast was amazing, continental selection buffet but also cooked breakfast on top with eggs Benedict, omelettes etc Room itself was good however strange shower wet room which flooded a lot…. Cleaners quite loud in the mornings The beach club subsidising was quite frustrating and although the hotel has a discounted rate with 2 clubs we chose to go to others at better rates which we thought was a bit odd. Overall a pleasant stay
