this is a small two-star hotel located in the centre of Sauze d'Oulx; 10-minute walk uphill towards nearest skilift; rooms were clean and tidy, however with a low ceiling in some part (room 11) which might be a problem for tall persons; spacious bathroom; breakfast was ok - as for a ** hotel; there is a bar with good selection... Situated in the old peasant part of Sauze this bulding from 1881 has evolved to a small & charming pied a terre, where Sarah pampers and feeds you with good humor. She is a "swissknife" with solutions to all your practical & informational needs. She presides over the groundfloor-bodega and serves good wines and boz to reasonable prices Ambience is... More

We've been to Sauze several times but this is our first time at the Gran Trun. Let's start with Sarah - she's simply brilliant. Bags of energy, couldn't be more accommodating, we just can't speak highly enough of her. Not surprisingly the kids were keen to hook up with WiFi after skiing each day and a trip down to the... Located in the centre of the beautiful town about 10mins walk (uphill) to the ski lift. We chose this place manly for its pretty looking wine bar for the "apres-ski" part of the holiday. While the hostess was lovely, welcoming and helpful other things weren't great. We are a couple and hoped for a bit of romantic stay but were... More

The highlight of this hotel is obviously Sarah, the host, who goes out of her way to make sure everyone feels welcome and has a perfect stay. She treated us as if we were her family and was very helpful throughout the whole trip by giving tips, arranging lessons, booking a taxi etc. I cannot thank her enough! The breakfast... More

Some days things go wrong, it happens to us all. For our visit Gran Trun suffered a burst pipe and our room would not be fixed in time. We knew 24hrs before we came out, they found us alternative accommodation and looked after us very well. Guia took us to our alternative accommodation and Sarah was a very helpful contact... More

Despite the few stars, Gran Trun is an ideal place for people that ski or stay out of house all day and require a place in the center of the city with easy access to restaurants. In summary Gran Trun is clean and comfortable as a small "hotel de charme" under the great supervision of Sarah.

Stayed for a few nights between Christmas and new years this past year with a few friends. Had an amazing time on and off the slopes. Sarah, the manager, is very hospitable and knowledgeable about the town (where to eat, go out) - she even got me in touch with her husband to take me out on a few slopes... More
