Read carefully my review in order to understand the critics about the grand hotel riva. The hotel has an unique location and the management has decided to offer a low cost service and make you pay for the location. The majority of the complaints are from people that are expecting a 4 stars service(how the hotel is classified) for a...

Best part of this hotel was the location. It's very central, right by the lake, where you want to be. The rooms are very small but since we reserved a room that looked larger in the pictures (it had a balcony, seems to be that was the reason for the higher price and not the room size) and it was...

I have already reviewed this hotel and wish to respond to the reply of the hotel Owner of the hotel, I resent you indicate what I have stated about your hotel is an untruth. Everything I have stated in my review of your hotel and other hotels has been completely true. What I stated happened in your hotel is completely...

Good points: fantastic location beside lake; room comfortably furnished; pleasant lounge; restaurant with panoramic views; central location. Bad points: main courses are mediocre; there is blaring music from nearby venue at weekends that goes on till after midnight; rooms under the uncarpeted fifth floor dining room hear every scrape of a chair from 6.30am onwards. No chance of a lie-in!

We stayed here in mid Sept. The location is very nice, but also in a limited traffic area, which can be a problem in Italy if you arrive at the wrong time of day, or don't take an approved route to the hotel. I just hope that I'm not going to get a huge ticket in a year or so...

Nice room with balcony overlooking harbour, bathroom was walk in wet room and beautifully fitted. We stayed half board but I would advise doing b&b only, lots of lovely places to eat at a reasonable price with far nicer food than hotel dining room.

Booking a single room was told by travel agent, 'It is unlikely you will have a Lake view' Can't tell you how excited I was when I open the door to see the glorious mountains of Garda looking back at me. Clean twin bedded room with a great shower and air conditioning. My room 402 was quiet, would recommend it....

On arrival, we were given key to room and times of breakfast. For what appears to be a traditional, old world hotel, they have tried to modernise it into a boutique style, but badly. Our room was very clean, but dull anD poorly decorated. They have started to colour ash the walls, but it just looks like it's been poorly...

Nice lounge area with overview on the adjacent "Garibaldi Square" ("Piazza Garibaldi"). Worth trying the thin crusty pizza served at the ground-floor restaurant. Friendly and quick table service. Good pricing.
