Wonderful two night stay in this ancient city of Ragusa. at the Hotel dell'Orologio. The hotel has a restaurant that offers cooking lessons. We participated in making arancini's for dinner, a classic Italian snack of rice and vegetables. After preparing the arancini's we went to the kitchen to see them fried up and then served with our meal as an...

This hotel offers an interesting but delightful concept...the owner took over abandoned apartments in a neighborhood of Ragusa and refurbished them as individual hotel rooms that have the appearance and feel of private apartment units. As a solo traveler, my room was small but comfortable...it felt a bit musty (not the best of what the hotel has to offer) but...

Room 226 is part of a diffuse group of rooms all run by a central check on. This is a new idea in Italy. Our room was a full steep street and three flights up from a separate locking door from the check in lobby. This type of lodging arrangement is part of a trend. A person buys several buildings...

A local recommended this hotel and we were given a small apartment, owned by the hotel but a street away from the main building. Really spacious, great breakfast, friendly owners and a very reasonable price. it is located very close to the old town but make sure you find your way as it's easy to get lost in the narrow...

I was part of a tour and we stayed at this hotel which meant that we were scattered all through the older part of Ragusa. I had a wonderful room with windows and doors out to the steps leading up to the room. It was near there Terrazza and wine bar which concerned me, but it was a very quiet...

This charming and quirky hotel is superbly located in the back streets of atmospheric Ragusa Ibla. Our room was enormous for 2 people, with excellent facilities and bathroom. Breakfast was good, and the staff very friendly and helpful. One thing to note was the terrace is a great spot to have a sundowner overlooking Ragusa Ibla. There is no parking...

Nice hotel nestled in the back streets, with the rooms/suites dotted around the various alleyways with a communal breakfast room and reception where the lovely Claudia was on hand to look after us and point us in the right direction! We had a fabulous suite with a beautiful view of the mountains.

The rooms here are comfortable and well presented and the hotel is conveniently located for walking into the centre of the old town but the real star here is the charming Claudia who enjoys speaking English and who was extremely helpful to us in recommending where to go and where to eat and in arranging a very friendly and safe...

Very nice and attractive hotel in the center of Ragusa, literally at few steps from everything u d like to see. Our room was like carved into the old cave and the result was amazing. We stayed for one night but definitely we could have stayed longer.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the top of the Clock Tower Steps (Salita dell'Orologio) in Ragusa Ibla, a new hotel has just opened its doors: "L'Hotel Diffuso dell'Orologio." The first of its kind in Ragusa-a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the hotel offers ideal lodging for lovers of baroque architecture, history, traditions, nature, food and wine, and cultural tours. L'Hotel Diffuso dell'Orologio marries the exuberance of 17th-century Baroque architecture with the sober elegance of 19th-century Sicilian furnishings. Look out any window and you'll have stunning views over tile roofs and verdant valleys while inside you can enjoy introspective paintings and photos by well-known local artists. The Orologio consists of rooms and apartments set in different buildings. They all come with air-conditioning, a flat-screen TV and private bathroom with free toiletries and a hairdryer. Apartments also feature a balcony and kitchen. ... more   less
