The town itself is wonderful, quite charming with plenty of places to eat. The hotel itself, however, is a bit of a throwback. Pros: Well situated. Good sized room if you’re lucky, although that’s a bit of a lucky dip. We pretty much had the pool to ourself, but I imagine it become very busy in summer. A certain amount of old world charm. The majority of the staff are good. Cons: Fussy and old fashioned (not in a good way). Food pretty poor, whatever the hotel say about freshness. It’s much better to eat outside the hotel. Having to pay for pool towels, despite information in the room saying that one is free for the duration. A general penny pinching attitude, with a definite feeling of tiers between the guest experience. We were on a excursion, and felt very much like the poor relations. Overall, although the hotel has some charm I can’t recommend it. I’ve also noticed that when the hotel replies to mildly critical reviews it’s in a very defensive way.

First I want to say the front desk staff are fabulous. The names of the staff are Fabio, Katia and Martina. A special Thank you for Katia, she found me some cooking classes. I found the beds and the pillows a bit hard. I had a nice corner room. The shower even had a little bench and a warming rack for the towels. The location is excellent. The hotel is a short walk to the main shopping area, a short walk to the train station and close to the park. If you are walking through the park you can go to the funicular. The sights from there are fabulous. Down the street from the hotel are some restuarants. My room even had a small fridge. Some of the rooms have a small balcony. If your room faces the street is could be a bit noiser compared to the rooms in the back. At times the wifi was spotty overall the wifi was ok. The breakfast was the same every morning. The breakfast consisted of hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs and sausage, pastries, fruit, sliced meat, cheese, yogurt, granola, juices, water and coffee.

We loved Montecatini and we loved this hotel. It featured a beautiful outdoor patio, a very comfortable and welcoming indoor lounge where we could gather for a cappuccino, a glass of wine, or a small dinner. Our room was comfortable and always kept very clean and well stocked with towels and new bedding. Due to testing positive for Covid we extended our stay for 5 additional days of quarantine. The front desk staff, Martina, Fabio and most especially Katia did everything to make our "extended" stay as pleasant as possible. The dining staff including Ania and headed by Giuseppe and Francesco were fantastic with room service. And finally Roberto in the bar area made us a delicious cappuccino every day of our stay. Nothing better than drinking cappuccino in Tuscany, even when you're confined to your hotel room!

We have stayed at this hotel three times in the last 10 years and have loved every trip. A classic double room is perfect for us, we had a room at the back of the hotel which had a juliet balcony. The bed was comfortable and the room clean. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the two evening meals we had in the restaurant. The hotel's location is perfect for exploring Montecatini Terme and Alto, there is a lovely park a few minutes from the hotel. There are trains to Lucca, Pisa and Florence. The staff at the hotel always make our holidays extra special, they are fantastic. The reception team, restaurant staff and Roberto in the bar were always cheerful and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. We will be booking again soon.

wonderfully furnished, clean and the crisp white bed linens were exceptional. courteous staff at the front desk and attentive staff at breakfast. WIFI was very weak; air-conditioning is not functional until May 1; the pool was not yet open despite warm temps; there is no coffee option other than breakfast. also, most of the rooms face a very busy road with lots of traffic and tour buses. the location is amazing with a wonderful park 3min. away to picnic, run or just stroll. city centre is also a short walk away.

This was our first visit to Tuscany, Italy and staying at this hotel in Montecatini was wonderful. We were on a Collette tour and this was our home base for our entire stay for a week. All of our breakfasts were at the hotel and the food was delicious!! Our servers Ania and Francesco were THE BEST!! In the evening we could go out to other places to eat, but many times we stayed at the hotel and had dinner in the lounge where Roberto ran the bar and just added to the excellent service for our stay. The dinner menu was full of many excellent appetizers and main dishes. The rooms were GREAT. Bed was firm and comfortable and the walk-in shower was perfect!! There were places to sit downstairs, rest in comfortable chairs or couches, to read or just relax from an exciting day. If we ever get back there we will stay there again!!! Santa approves of this Elegant Hotel

We had an amazing time at the hotel, all the staff were lovely , especially the people on reception, Martina and Fabio who were so happy and helpful. Martina gave us so much help with information and advice and was always very pleasant she was a real pleasure to speak to and just fantastic. Fabio also was so efficient and professional he was absolutely brilliant at his job. We were so sad to leave , thank you so much Martina and Fabio we really felt your love and will be back as soon as we can, we were so sad to leave. We would highly recommend this hotel , the rooms and the atmosphere , with beautiful furnishings, and the perfect location make it the best hotel in Montecatini , but it is also the staff that make it the best, especially Martina and Fabio, Ciao e Grazie, Chris xxx

I do not usually write reviews. But this hotel and its staff deserve the highest praise for all aspects of my recent stay. After traveling all night and three flights, I was greeted warmly by Ms. Anna and Ms.Martina. Our luggage was taken immediately to our beautiful room with a view that I loved immediately.. Each day after a long day of touring, my room was clean and inviting. The concierge, Roberto and restaurant staff Serena and Katia were always helpful, kind and professional. After just a short time, I felt part of this hotel family. Yes, visiting Italy was a lifelong dream but the lifelong friends I have at this hotel are the most important memory of my trip!

We have just completed a one week stay here at Francia e Quirinale and we would thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable base to explore the major cities and attractions of Tuscany. The hotel has a very stylish Italian decor, has a lovely outside pool and sun bathing area and is very well located in Monticatini for easy reach to the train station for travelling to Lucca, Florence and Viareggio. San Ginminano is 1 hour by car and Siena is 1 hour 40 minutes. A day at the beach at either Forti di Marmi or Viareggio is only 45 minutes away. The staff here at the hotel are so nice and friendly- they really do look after you and go out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need. Thank you to Roberto, Katie, Serena, Luigia and Simone for making our stay so enjoyable and personable. You are a credit to the hotel.
