Like other correspondents we chose the hotel because of proximity to Mestre station(10 mins walk) and thus quickly into Venice. Certainly it was convenient and in a nice quiet street, but the area wasn't altogether wonderful. Most of the local population and the shops and cafes were Asian rather than Italian, and coming back at night meant avoiding some ladies... More

Stayed at Hotel Ambasciata for 2 nights about a month back. The hotel is at a walking distance from the Mestre Train Station and that was the prime reason I chose to stay here. Had read a few reviews about owner not being good etc. I did not find any such issues. On the contrary I found the owner and... More

The room was really nice, clean and tidy and spacious. It's only a 5-10 walk from the station and has shops and supermarkets located either side. There is Macdonalds next to the hotel incase you get fed up of eating pizza and paste all the time :) Their is a bus stop directly opposite the hotel and it's a about... More

Room small but decent. Near the Mestre station so that was the only good part. Receptionist was helpful n understanding. Room carpet gave some wierd smell but it was acceptable. Not worth more than 80 euros.

I have been traveling 4 times visiting Venice in the last 7 years as a part of my vacation trips in Italy, and I always looked for a nice and not too expensive hotel in Mestre, because of the easy and short access to Venice by bus or by train. My first visit at the Ambasciata was only by chance,... More

We had only evening here and found the room large and bathroom clean and very nice. Room was quiet. Best part probably is the quick access - just a short walk - to the Mestre train station to zip you into Venezia (or catch a train elsewhere - like we did to Florence (Firenze)

Stayed for 2 nights in their double room with a group of friends. Hotel is about 5 mins from the train station. Went there 2 hours before Check in time and was grateful to get our rooms. The hotel while the facade and the lobby is new the rooms whilst clean seem aged to me, I think they did some... More

As the hotel double booked a number of rooms we got shafted down to their sister hotel, Hotel Michelangelo... Which in no way is of an equivalent value. Very disappointed. The location is further from the station and no gym, twin beds and decrepit furniture and decor. Would not recommend the Ambasciatori as they may not honour your booking.

We chose this hotel because we wanted to go to Venice and avoid finding (and paying) a parking there. The hotel is located near the train station, in a very quiet street. This was very convenient because we took the train to Venice (9 km away) which only costed us 2.5 Euro per person (both ways !) We had a... More

“My son & myself are both approx. 80kgs. If you are of a larger frame, the shower in our room might have caused you a little annoyance, as it was very small. Maybe other rooms have larger showers? Might pay to check first. Wasn't a big-deal for us though.”
