Lovely pleasant hotel with gorgeous view over the bay. Just a 5-minute walk from the main street with restaurants. Room was modern with Sicilian charm. Wasn't big but the balcony certainly was. I think it has been recently refurbished. Good breakfast though on one day the eggs were cold! Pleasant pool area of a decent size but heavily chlorinated. Again, stunning views. We felt very welcome here.
The hotel is only a short walk into town . The inexperienced staff let down this beautiful hotel . We did have a lovely positioned room except it had a door to the adjoining room , we could hear all their conversations so most likely they could hear ours . The pool staff left used glasses on unoccupied areas . Breakfast was basic and the staff seemed to be inexperienced
On the Lipari leg of our journey, we decided to change from our Airbnb to Hotel Mea and glad we did (rest of our stay around Sicily was in Airbnbs). The hotel staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious. We were on the first floor so the pool was steps away. Because of the spectacular view, we spent a decent amount of time on the poo. at the beginning and end of our day. The price of drinks at the bar are reasonable and service friendly (peanuts and chips were complementary). The town and harbor is downhill walk about 7 min walk, turning left at the hotel entrance. I sent running 3 of the days, turning right of the hotel and then climbed up the hill. Breakfasts are outstanding. 4 kinds of juices. There is no made to order station but the variety of bread, pastries, yoghurt, fruit, vegetables and such was plentiful that we normally skipped lunch. Also, do check out the restaurant for dinner. We had one dinner there and thoroughly enjoyed it. Just word of caution: aunts are plentiful on the island. If you take a ground floor room, make sure you don't leave food out unsealed. Or be okay with ants.…
6 nights in the Mea. Wonderful experience all round. From the moment you arrive at the hotel you know you are somewhere special. Amazing views; lovely pool area; great room; easy walk into town; staff could not do enough for you and even an amazing breakfast.
The positive reviews about this hotel say it all. It is a really excellent place to stay when visiting Lipari. Great views, friendly and efficient staff, lovely bedrooms and a really nice pool. Don’t be tempted to save money and stay in a room at the back with no sea view. You will regret it as this hotel is all about the views. As mentioned the hotel is just out of the main town. It is an easy albeit slightly uphill walk but don’t be tempted to try it with suitcases. Get a taxi at the ferry terminal. We didn’t have an evening meal here however the breakfasts were very good with a range of hot and cold dishes.
I’m not sure how to properly communicate how absolutely unbelievable our experience was at HOTEL Mea. From the moment we arrived it was like walking into a dream. I don’t think I have ever meant a more wonderful, thorough, thoughtful staff, especially Maria at the front desk, Christiano in the restaurant, and of Course Maria at the pool bar. The rooms are stunning - like something out of a movie with private terraces, lush greenery and postcard Picture views. The staff was able to deftly arrange for boat tours, private driving tours, amazing “ off the beaten path” restaurants and more. Very easy short walk to the Main Street. Breakfast and dinner were delicious each day (some plans include dinner .. we opted for two nights of dinner), and the Staff seemed genuinely happy to work here which to me says a lot. We were planning for only two days, but before the end of day one, we knew this is where we wanted to make our home base for the Aeolean Islands, and we Quickly added three more days to our stay. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!…
Brilliant hotel with brilliant and very caring staff. We stayed a whole week and one of our rooms received a free upgrade, sea view, stunning! Rooms were perfect. A little minibar allowed us to keep some little things cool as well. Each of the rooms have a private terrace. Swimming pool has a good size to swim and is open the whole day/evening. For breakfast there was a lot to choose from, including English breakfast, though I wished they would have altered their cheese, cold meat selection over the week and included also some local products. Staff is well trained and passionate about their work. There is Italian and English/Italian speaking staff, which was perfect for us to communicate though at the same time enjoying the Italian ambience. Overall, Hotel Mea was the perfect accommodation for us. …
Very nice hotel. Rooms are spacious and well equiped. Localisation is great, walking distance from the port and the center of town but very quiet for a good night sleep. Service is very good with a kind and helpful staff. Nice swimming pool with a view. Only downside would be the bedding which could be newer/more comfortable.
Nice place for dinner, good pool ; very helpful people at the front desk, good informations, but: beds / matress should be replaced, at least in our room (matress was worn out) ; instructions to use the air-condition was missing and could not get regulated in May
Great hotel for a pre-season stay. Lovely, helpful staff. Only negative was the sporadic WiFi in the room. Restaurant was the same quality and price as the best in the town. Fantastic location with views across the port and bay. Easy walking distance (5 mins) into town for seeing the sights and enjoying the restaurants and bars, or taking the Aliscafo to the other islands.
