Please believe all the glowing reviews because they are true! This was our third visit to this hotel and every time we have been very satisfied. The family make you feel so welcome... nothing is too much trouble. The food is varied, well presented and plentiful. All members of staff are lovely and chirpy first thing in the morning.. We found it an ideal base for exploring many places, and we were helped out with bus timetables often at the reception desk. Bus tickets are available at the newsagent just around the corner and are now paper which you have to fold in half (lengthways), in order to get your ticket into the slot. All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean all the time. Masks do not have to be worn by visitors only by the staff. And now due to COVID restrictions you have to by served from the breakfast buffet, which is no problem because the young waitresses are professional and friendly. In fact they patiently helped me to practice my Italian each morning! We will be back in the future... many thanks to Salvatore, grazia , their family and all staff members for making it another great holiday.

We really enjoyed our week at Hotel Fortunella. We were half board so had breakfast and dinner each day included. There was lots of choice for breakfast, cereals, eggs, fruit and pastries with selection of meats and cheese. Dinner was 4 courses each evening with a choice of pasta, fish and meat dishes. Each dinner was delicious, especially the starters! The staff at the hotel were all so nice and friendly. They answered any questions we had about buses and trains. It really is such a lovely place to stay if you want to visit tuscany region, we managed pisa, lucca, florence and cinque terre. The beach was only a 5 minute walk with plenty of shops and restaurants along the promenade. It has a lovely family feel and was like coming home to dinner each evening after exploring tuscany.

We were warmly welcomed at the friendly, family run hotel by Salvatore. Our room was nicely furnished, quiet, spotless and the modern shower room spacious. A safe was in the wardrobe. The balcony had a broad view across to the Apuan alps and we were not overlooked. Although the hotel was on a road with passing buses and traffic the double glazing made the room very quiet. There were no problems with my gluten-free diet. Breakfast had a good choice with bread, cake, jams, yoghurt, cheese, ham, eggs and bacon were available too. Wonderful cappuccino. The freshly cooked evening meal, chosen the evening before, was served in the garden when the weather was suitable, a real treat. Delicious, appetising smells came from the kitchen. Wine is available in bottles only, but this could be enjoyed over a few days. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the sea. Bikes can be hired from the hotel and there are cycle paths along the seafront. Good advice was given about things to do, see and visit. We enjoyed some walks in the hills, bike rides, visits to other towns and beach strolls. There is a good, inexpensive bus service, (tickets available at hotel reception) it even has a direct link with Pisa Airport. The hotel was Covid-19 aware and the communal areas were cleaned regularly. We highly recommend this welcoming hotel, thank you to the whole family and the team for for making our holiday so enjoyable and relaxing.

We stayed at the Hotel Fortunella for 5 nights. The family who run it are always friendly, polite, helpful and cheerful, they go out of their way to make sure you are happy with everything. They also have made a big effort to make guests stay feel covid safe and everywhere including our room was kept very clean. Our room had a nice balcony and was a good size with lots of storage. My only gripe was the hair dryer which worked fine but had seen better days. The food was excellent and very plentiful. We had dinner there on 4 evenings in the garden, which had lots of lovely lights so made it quite special. The sea front was about a 5 minute walk and you could get buses to Pisa and Lucca just down the road. Overall we had a lovely break and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Fortunella.

Outstanding unique Hotel, why? The Family enthusiasm and attention to detail is something really warming and special. Rooms adequate, immaculately clean and tidy with a lovely balcony view to sea or the mountains. The evening dinner service is excellent.. Wholesome Italian food sourced locally and cooked to perfection, at a very reasonable price. Great location for business in Massa and the local areas. Superb holiday spot. Just a short 3 minute walk to the beach front. Definitely coming back. The 3 star rated hotel provides a personalised 5 star service which is something unique and pleasurable.

My wife and I stayed at the excellent Hotel Fortunella in September 2020. For us it was a last minute decision based on the circumstances of my wife recovering from a knee operation thus we chose the Hotel for the flat location and access to the surrounding area. We found the Hotel to be excellent value, super clean and the staff in particular deserve a mention for there friendliness and quality of service. Salvatore in particular is a walking and breathing tourist information office. Fantastically helpful for advice for getting out and about. Bus and train tickets can be bought at the reception with added advice, descriptions and notes to assist, brilliant. The reviews of others don't lie. The food was great and 'all' the staff worked really hard in giving their excellent service. Couldn't have asked for more. Complimenti bravo!.

We had such a wonderful time during our stay at Fortunella hotel. We were attracted to the fact that it was a family owned and all of them, including the hotel staff, made a fantastic team. We were always greeted with a smile and the hotel owner Salvatore and his sister Grazia made us feel so welcome, making sure our stay is pleasant and comfortable. Cleanliness was outstanding everywhere. Food was plentiful and delicious and all evening meals were exceptional. Front hotel rooms offer a nice view but if one is a light sleeper these rooms can be noisy from passing traffic, especially at weekends when the Italians seem keen to visit the resort. The air con in our rooms we thought could do with an upgrade to be more effective. Perhaps ceiling fans could be a good idea for the next holiday season. Close to the hotel there is a lovely promenade, lit in the sun and peppered with shops and cafés, ice cream places, of course... Shops are open late at night and the local market descends on to the promenade weekly. The beach is just stunning and one can walk for miles, watching the seagulls and waves crashing on to the shore- such a delight. What a precious gem this Italian resort is and what was the best of all, the hotel staff made us feel so welcome. Thank you to all of you. When the rain settles in amongst the misty hills, we will have amazing memories to treasure.

This gem is on a side road a few hundred metres from the promenade and beach, with bars and restaurants. But choose half board. The food is first class (including vegetarian). Breakfast is cereal, croissant, coffee, yogurt, fruit, cheese, meat, as well as cooked items - eggs, sausage, beans, toast. Dinner is four courses with Tuscan specialties. Starter, first, second and dessert. Again, vegetarians are well catered for..Rooms have a free safe, great shower and bidet in the bathroom. Broadband WiFi is 5 euro for your entire stay and all devices. The hotel is.a few metres from the bus stop to Lucca and the main road at the end of the street has buses to Pisa, the airport, Pietrasanta and Viareggio (it is an easy walk also). There is a small market on the promenade on Saturdays and a larger one on Mondays..

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel . The welcome and friendliness of the staff for all of the week was just perfect. The food is outstanding I just wish I could have ate it all. Perfect location, short work from the promenade. Any bus or train tickets you wanted you only had to ask and they even suggested a better day for me to visit Florence from the one I suggested. You must give this a hotel a try, you won't be disappointed. I am used to bigger hotels but to be honest found the atmosphere much more to my liking. I shall return
