You always get such mixed reviews so I thought I'd just try and tell it as it was. The hotel looks and feels great. We had a nice room overlooking the sea and it was bigger than other Italian hotel rooms we had stayed in. The hotel is quaint with lots of charm and it was great not to be...

Our best ever holiday to Italy/Sicily. What made it that? Without a doubt the staff. If there was anything you felt wasn't quite right they moved heaven and earth to put it right. The food was no different than in any other decent hotel we've visited over there in the last 25 years. If you want roast beef and two...

We were searching for a hotel that night and after a few disappointing places we found AR, which on first sight in the night was not overly convincing. However we had a slightly worn but lovely decorated room with the most beautiful balcony and view. The entire hotel is a piece of art with its beautiful 60ies typically itialian somewhat...

This hotel is in a lovely location, peaceful, with a lovely pool area and within easy reach of Taormina by bus. However, as a 30+ female travelling alone (I was there to visit a friend who teaches in Taormina) I found the attitude of the hotel staff to be disinterested and unfriendly. I found the second night (and subsequent nights)...

I loved this hotel. it was so quaint & lovely. In the below comments I've tried to include all aspects although I have to say that any negative things about the hotel didn't bother me at all. If it was a different hotel it might have mattered but this hotel's quirks just seemed to make it part of the character!...

I LOVED this hotel and will definitely come back to stay again. The staff are super friendly, especially Nino, and nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel is not new but it and the staff have a good dash of character! The view is fantastic, particularly from the top floor rooms that look at the ocean. The restaurant...

If you like the sicilian version of "olde-worlde charm", this might be right hotel for you. Yes, there are the painted wooden panels all over the place, yes the place has some atmosphere that reminds you of the golden fifties or sixties, at breakfast the rolls are so hard that they might be left-overs from the sixties as well (actually...

The approach is up a peaceful one way road, traditional homes and gardens lead you to the entrance where you are greeted by very friendly staff or maybe some of the family who run the hotel. The front has a very pleasant pool and garden area where there is always sun loungers available. Beyond the pool area the Ionian sea...

We have just returned from our honeymoon at the Arathena Rocks Hotel and can't wait to go back one day. The hotel is beautifully decorated with local pottery, artefacts, even family portraits. The staff are all really friendly - even the restaurant staff (as earlier reviews had them down as rude). The restaurant food must have improved because we couldn't...
