A place of extraordinary beauty, with everything in superb taste and presided over by a staff that is genuinely hospitable and knowledgeable. We used it as a base to explore Tuscany, guided by the superb advice of Benedetta, the staff member who oversees the care of guests. Her deep knowledge of the area led us to hilltop towns like Montefollonico,...

Famed for its gardens (arguably the most splendid in all of Italy), this estate founded by Antonio and Iris Origo and still a family residence and working farm offers delightful visitor accommodations in some of its former farmhouses and adjacent properties. The Palazzolo cottage doubles as a bed and breakfast and offers stunning sunset views of the magnificent Val d'Orcia....

Definitely worth an hour of our time driving through the Tuscan countryside. Even in October the grounds were very nice and the tour guide very friendly and knowledgable. You have to go on the tour but it's worth it!

This is a historic house. Historically noted in the 2nd world war, mainly during the Nazi withdrawel from Italy. The house is there - not open to the public - but there are rooms to rent. The gardens are lovely. To be there in a place of Italian history. Would suggest you read the book of it's history, prior to visit...

We visited both the burial grounds of Antonio And Iris Origa and La Foce, the gardens and the villa which were their homes. Sybilia, the hostess and guide tells their story with such passion and elegance, that one is just mesmerized by her with Iris's book " war in Val D'orcia" in her hands while sitting in the gardens and...

This was our 4th visit to La Foce and each time we promise to return. Somehow, each time is as wonderful as the first and each time has been delightfully different. We have stayed in 3 different apartments in their Chiarantana property but this time we rented a big house, Sassia and its guest house for our family of 11....

We are so fortunate to have discovered La Foce and to have experienced the magnificent beauty that surrounds the area. Benedetta expertly assisted us from my initial inquiry to our final day with many questions in between. Our family stayed in Montauto and enjoyed every moment. The rooms were unbelievably charming; the kitchen well equipped to meet our every need...

My husband and I held our wedding at La Foce this past May, and it was absolutely breathtaking. Although we have seen plenty of photos of the perfectly manicured gardens, seeing it in person is a completely different experience! La Foce is overseen by Benedetta, and it is an expansive area in the Val d'Orcia that has many villas, apartments,...

Our stay in the Palazzolo B&B was a mixed experience. La Foce was quite difficult to find. We were alone in the two-story house, which is set among gorgeous rolling hills in a perfectly manicured property. The Lavender room was spacious, comfortable, and rustic in style. Windows galore looked out on spectacular views and welcome screens meant we could enjoy...

Well worth it and do read Iris Origo's memoirs about the war there "War in the Val d'Orcia" Not that big but lovely place and superb views Interesting hedges laid out using tricks of perspective Rose gardens Amazing what they did here considering it used to be rocky landscape until 1920s
