My wife and I spent stayed in the Abbaye for one night and had high expectations for this place. We fell in love with the picturesque location of the 12th Century Abbaye. Upon arrival, we immediately connected with the charming, authentic place. A true disconnect with the fast paced and modern life, the 900 years old buildings, the lake, the...

We stayed on the way through France to the south based on a recommendation from a friend. It was a great start to our stay driving through a beautiful village and then turning into the amazing grounds of the Abbaye - it really is the sort of setting which takes your breath away. We had our five year old son...

This is a really great place. Some old buildings do not lend themselves to being converted to hotels but this one is really well done. Lots of nook and crannies, passage ways and hidden staircases. Lovely. This is an expensive place but it is generally worth it. There is a lake with a rowing boat in it which my wife...

Staying here one night was an extraordinary time which went beyond that of any other luxury hotel experience that we've ever had. Once inside the gate, one enters idyllic grounds with a small pond, stream, geese, two ponies, beaver, and lots of lavender flowers. Stepping into the hotel itself, we felt immersed in a 14th century abbey space including stained...

Returned to experience another exceptional stay at this unique Abbey. Totally restored to perfection. The rooms are tastefully decorated, the bathrooms luxurious with bathrobes and slippers provided. Toiletries are all provided including a shoe horn! The proprietors greet you as you arrive and assure your enjoying your stay. There is a wonderful balcony overseeing the dining room. The high ceiling...

We did not stay here, although if I would have known about this place, I would have at least reserved for a few nights. We came for lunch and it was wonderful. It was a nice, warm day in late June. We were seated on the terrace where two miniature horses were doing PR between the guests. :) Incredibly endearing....

The Abbaye de la Bussiere is an extremely beautiful, magical, and almost surreal property surrounded by a huge, superbly maintained forest / garden. Imagine babbling brooks, fields of cotton, little white flowers dancing in the wind, and at the middle of it all, an enormous castle-like structure that is well renovated inside and out, but has still managed to keep...

Where to begin? We stayed here whilst visiting family. The grounds are picturesque and peaceful to walk through, with a lovely river flowing through them. The rooms (we looked around a few when Clive showed us what a fantastic restoration they had done) are all wonderfully designed and decorated. The staff cannot do enough for you, and are most helpful...

We stopped at this beautiful establishment for Sunday lunch. Whilst entering we ran into the owners who were taking the dog for a walk - very welcoming introduction to the Abbey. Lunch was superb, service excellent and they allowed us a walk through the upstairs hotel rooms where the owners eye for detail in decoration was clearly evident. Very pleasant...
