Continental Hotel, since more than 50 years, is a point of reference for anyone who wants to stay in Arezzo in an elegant atmosphere with professional and qualified staff.
Recently the hotel has been completely renewed both outside and inside.
The Hotel Continentale Arezzo is situated in the centre of Italy, in a strategic position, in the very heart of Tuscany. The Hotel has 73 rooms, three deluxe suites, three conference rooms equipped according to the most modern criteria, elegant and spacious living rooms, a lobby bar and a wide breakfast room and most beautifull panoramic roof in the city.
This was my second stay at Hotel Continental. This hotel is so comfortable and conveniently located. It is close to everything and the rooftop terrace is beautiful. The staff is very helpful with any and everything you might need.
What can one say about the Hotel Continentale? The hotel may have been elegant 50 years ago but it is now seriously in need of a facelift! Its faded glamour matches its faded carpets and it now resembles a cross between a Chinese takeaway and Liberace’s boudoir! Plastic flowers, gold furniture and lace curtains abound. Breakfast was very poor with what looked very much like powdered orange juice. Dogs were even allowed in the breakfast room. My room was clean and bright, staff were friendly and the hotel is only a few minute’s walk from the Piazza Grande. More use should be made of the rooftop terrace. A faded hotel that doesn’t seem to want to or is unable to move with the times
I have to say I was very disappointed with my 4 night stay at this hotel while I was working nearby. On arrival I asked if there was anywhere I could park and was told by the receptionist that "the hotel has a private garage for 10 euros a day". After I checked in he told me that the porter would show me the way to the garage. The porter took me outside and pointed to some traffic lights in the distance, across the huge roundabout outside the hotel. I followed his instructions and ended up in the city's municipal underground car park, which is a fair distance from the hotel and not very large. I had to wait around for quite a while until someone left and left a space for me to park my car. Not ideal when you have finished a days work to hope for a car parking space when you get there and then have to walk some way to the hotel. Once in the hotel the room was very small, decorated like something from a distant past and not very clean. The shower was just about adequate, with hardly the room to swing a cat and the bed was small and uncomfortable. The general ambience in the place was quite depressing and the hotel in general is in need of a serious upgrade to bring it into the modern world. There is nowhere to eat in the restaurant and the breakfast was as disappointing as the rest of the hotel. No hot food, just the usual continental style buffet but not one that appealed to me. I ate breakfast elsewhere every morning. The breakfast room was huge and I cannot understand why they do not use it as a proper restaurant and give guests the opportunity to eat in after a days work, without the need to walk around the city looking for somewhere to eat. I am always disappointed when I have to leave a bad review but unfortunately I feel that this hotel leaves me no choice after a very disappointing experience of staying there. Never again, unless they do something about the decor, comfort and cleanliness in order to offer their guests a much needed, improved experience.…
A good location , easy walk to all the historical places in the center of the town. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good. Mattresses not very comfy and the same with the pillows. The terrace on the top worth having a drink with a view.
Very well located hotel with a great breakfast and endless cappuccinos on demand:) Large rooms well appointed and value for money Made my 2 days in Arezzo absolutely magical- easy spot to get in and out from while visiting Cortona and other locations nearby
