What a delightful 3 star hotel. We stayed here with our daughter and her partner for 3 nights. Unfortunately we were not able to stay longer. The first thing I’d like to say is how pleasant Nino was. We exchanged emails a few times before booking our rooms, he was always kind, answering promptly and perfect English.
Our rooms were at the front of the hotel with a balcony and a beautiful see view. Rooms are comfortable, air conditioned and have everything you need including a fridge with complimentary water.
The sandy beach is literally across the road and if opting for an umbrella and sun bed you get a 20% discount because you are staying in L’approdo.
We would definitely recommend this hotel especially as I have left the best until last. A great breakfast is served on the top floor with a beautiful view of the sea and something for everybody sweet and savoury and the bonus also on the top floor is a heated swimming pool……. Divine

While traveling through Italy we had difficulties with the train as most Americans do. We found ourselves in Anzio at 8pm. Tired and hungry we made it to the hotel and we’re greeted warmly by Nino(hopefully spelled correctly. He went above and beyond by calling the local restaurants to find out which were open for us to eat at. Cannot thank Nino enough.

We had trouble finding the turn to Via Ardeatina & called the hotel. Shortly thereafter, Nino came to meet us so we could follow him to the hotel. That set the tone. The family working at breakfast were delightful. The rooms were spotless, the rooftop pool a delight and the location great. It is across from the beach and walking distance to restaurants. We were there 3 nights. Our family that met us from Roma were also delighted with the hotel and family atmosphere. We will definitely return and highly recommend Hotel L'Approdo.

I was living in the hotel with my son 16 years in the two single rooms within a week in August, 2012. Pro: very good location - long and sand beach across the street. It is very close to Railway station "Anzio Colonia", about 5 min. walk from this Hotel. Calm, quiet and friendly place to stay with kids and beach vacations.Clear water, cheap and fresh fruit. Only one hour away by train from Rome. A perfect choice for a combined route sights of Rome and a relaxing holiday by the sea. The renovated rooms with a soft and comfortable bed, TV, mini-bar, air conditioning, bathroom. If you need peace and quiet, choose a room overlooking the courtyard. The rooms with a sea view from the noise of cars on the road. But they have a really wonderful view of the sea and the sunset. Contra: Small hotel very popular and very quickly sold. Try to make reservations in advance. Now there is a new reconstruction of the hotel until April next year. This room has no safe-box. Light, mini-bar and air conditioning works only on the hotel card during the stay in the room. Breakfast is small and no hot option. The locals do not speak English. Sometimes there is a misunderstanding of the situation.

We stayed 4 days at L'Approdo. It was ideal for the following reasons:
- Direct access to a good beach (access can't be taken for granted on this coast)
- Direct train to Rome within walking distance (approx Euro8 return, 1 hour)
- Great hotel - attractive, well architected, good rooms, good balconies, lift, parking .....
- The price is right, particularly if you share a room
- Great staff - a family run hotel - Nino & family could not be more helpful
- Free WiFi
- Good breakfast

I don't give 5 stars without reason. I highly recommend this hotel.

The place was completely remodelled and opened june 2013. The owner spent a fortune and has now the best hotel in Anzio. The rooms and the rooftop pool are as stylish as a new york appartment on park avenue! Breakfast is great coffee and eggs are made fresh. They make a buttermilk olive oil cake which is fabulous. I ate 3pcs this morning...
Get the seaview rooms there is some. Noise from the street but the views are great and you have sun all day long.

We found this hotel via Trip Advisor and booked at booking.com. We secured two rooms - one in the new wing and one in an older wing. Both rooms were clean, beautifully appointed, and looked right out on the sea. The entire property was neat as a pin and we were spoiled by the owner and his family. A gorgeous swimming pool on the top floor, with a bar that stayed open past our bedtimes! Stunning views of the shoreline and sea; we walked across the street, down a ramp and right into the sea for an afternoon swim. We were a 30-minute walk to the city center / marina where the restaurants were great value. Terrific service - this hotel is an absolute jem - you've GOT to give it a try!

It is already the second year that we have decided to spend a couple of weeks at the hotel L’Approdo. It is a lovely white-washed, three story high building, just outside the old city center of Anzio.
The hotel is run by Nino and his wife Angela, who will go out of their way to make you feel at home. The sense of being in a homely environment is accentuated by the presence of their young boy, their two daughters and Angela’s freshly baked cakes.
The rooms are comfortable, all with balconies, some of which have great views of the sea and the sunset. All rooms have Sky (sports and movie) so you can watch sports and movies in their original language, free wi-fi, a fridge to store your drinks and food, and are fully air-conditioned.

The hotel works only as a B&B at the moment, but food is never too far away. Just across the road there’s the beach, with a choice of a few different places for you to sunbathe and have some lunch (I strongly recommend Lido Garda and the its friendly, family-run atmosphere). For dinner there are at least 4 places at a short walking distance. Alternatively, you can drive (or take a taxi) to the center of Anzio, or to the nearby Nettuno or Lavinio.
As a note for the future, there are plans for the development of the hotel, with a roof garden, a bar and a swimming pool on the top floor.

Definitely a place to keep an eye on!

We really enjoyed our short stay in this quiet, friendly, family run hotel. It is on the seafront about 2km from the centre of Anzio. You can check in from 1 pm which is nice and early. You can park for free on the road outside or on the driveway area if you leave the key at reception. The rooms are modern, air-conditioned and very clean with a balcony with table and chairs. I think you can see the sea from the balcony in all the rooms. There is a small fridge in the rooms which is handy and contained two small bottles of complementary water on arrival. The bathrooms are a decent size and showers very good and don't leak out on the floor like in some places we've stayed. The pool/sun terrace is on the roof so it isn't overlooked by other buildings and it is just delightful. The sun loungers are very comfortable and although there were only 12, this was plenty as on two of the days we were there we were the only ones up there all day and it was just like having a private pool! The breakfast room is next to the pool and is light and airy even on a really hot day so somewhere you can sit if you need to cool down or maybe want to use your phone or iPad without risking getting them wet or too hot (wifi is free and works in all areas). Breakfast is continental buffet style and is lovely and fresh and the lady of the house produces delicious homemade cakes. The coffee is very good and made freshly. You can get some snacks for lunch on request - we had toasted sandwiches and a pizza -though there is a supermarket just round the corner from the hotel and they don't seem to mind guests buying lunch elsewhere and eating it in the breakfast room. There are restaurants nearby but we preferred to walk into the centre of Anzio in the evening where there are plenty of good restaurants and cafes to choose from. They tend to start getting busy around 8 pm onwards and fish is the main thing on the menu at most of them.

In summary, If you are looking for a small, quiet hotel of good quality then we would highly recommend this hotel to you. We would definitely like to go back there.

Our group stayed at L' Approdo for sadly only one night in October. We will be back! Hotel is situated across the street from the ocean, not far from the city center. Excellent restaurant nearby. Rooms are very roomy with great views of the ocean. Breakfast room is on top of the hotel which makes for a great way to start the day with a delicious breakfast and view. Hotel is family run and the owners are simply fantastic. Everyone at the hotel is helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Hotel has an elevator which is helpful. Can't wait to return and spend more time in the area. A great respite from Rome or Naples.
