We stayed four nights in this hotel to visit the Dolomites and had a great time! We sincerely thank Mr. Renato and his son Manuel who are very kind and always available. Alleghe is a little gem, the rooms are clean, bright and spacious, the beds are comfortable and the breakfast is spectacular with delicious cakes, speck, cheese, ham, yogurt... all served in a large room with a view of Mount Civetta.
There is no lift but Manuel kindly helped us carry our suitcases.
The reserved and free parking is very convenient. In summer the restaurant is closed, but they offered us to have dinner at the nearby Hotel delle Alpi for 22 euros per person and we had a very good time there too.
We will definitely be back, thank you very much also for the precious advice for our tourist itineraries.

The Coldai is centrally located in Alleghe, you can already see it arriving in the country. We found a pleasant welcome from the family that runs the facility. The structure, although dated, is tidy and clean, the rooms sufficiently spacious. Hearty and varied breakfast. Ci torneremo!

The rooms are large and clean, the staff is very friendly, and parking is free. The breakfast is excellent - in a large area and varied. The facility is close to the center.
The only problem is that there are not enough sockets in the room. And there is no lift

We stayed at Hotel Coldai for 4 nights in Feb and were extremely happy with our stay.
It is a small family run hotel with a warm atmosphere and friendly helpful staff.
The location was perfect- very close to the cable cars (5 min walk) and a central location within the town close to all of the restaurants, bars and supermarket.
The rooms are a little dated but very clean and comfortable, they have central heating so our room was always nice and warm despite the cold temperatures outside.
There is also a separate storage area for ski's and ski boots which is handy if you have your own equipment.
The breakfast was fabulous - excellent continental; cereals, yogurts, fresh pastries, cakes, various breads, fruit, scrambled eggs, cheese, ham and cured meats.
We also dined at the restaurant Coldai and were very pleasently surprised - the restaurant is dated but the food more than made up for this. We enjoyed some fantastic venison tortelloni and venison carpaccio with some side salads. For dessert we tried the strudel which was also very good - and very reasonably priced.
The hotel also features a pub with live music on the weekends- Although the music cannot be heard in the rooms if this would be a concern.
In all a great stay- planning to go back next year!

I highly suggest to cold buffet table. It was 5 eu for a plate and the vegetable dishes were phenomenal. I likely had 20 different veggies on my plate. There was also bruchetta which was very good. My main course was not as appetizing. I order Cervo Taglietelle. The taglietelle was over cooked, which is not acceptable in the land of "Al-Dente!) But I should have know better to order Cervo, as it was 10 months past hunting season, so it had to be frozen. I would still try again.

Food is ok, the whole hotel could use renovation. It doesn't have an elevator.
It doesn't have pool, sauna, or any kind of wellness, bit it has a good pub. Good thing is that is afordable. It is near the gondolas and everything is close cause it's small city.

Don't stay at hotel Coldai! it's a great dissapointment!
Is very cold in he room because the heating is torn of over the night and over the day is torn of between 9.00 and 16.00 o clock! When you come back from the slopes in the room is like in the igloo and over the ight is the same sensation!
The furniture is old, the breakfast very poor!
If you want warm and quality don't go to this "3 stars hotel".With indulgences 2 stars!!!!!

In the heart of the Dolomites, great staff, great local food. Along the "Alta via n. 1" pathway, close to the starting point of a number of trains and "ferrate". Accessible to families, kids, and people that are not used to hike.

We stayed in Hotel Coldai after our original plans to stay in Arabba were upset by weather and avalanche risk. The hotel staff were kind and helpful and did their best to make us feel welcome. The breakfast buffet was only average, but everything else was good. Plenty of hot water, comfortable bed and close to the skiing. We liked the warm comfortable lounge best of all, and even the stairs could be forgiven, as they warmed up the legs nicely for a day on the piste.
Thank you to all at the hotel from the snowHeads group who were meant to be in Arabba.
