We stayed at The Naseem Hotel for four nights. Upon being taken to the room, there were no towels or water or cups so we had to ask for some. We did day trips from the hotel and every day we returned, our key did not work, so every day we had to go back downstairs to ask them to revalidate it. There was no bath mat in the shower so I nearly broke my neck! We had to ask twice for a bath mat. On our last evening, on return to the hotel, the room had not been cleaned. We told the reception who then sent someone up but as we just wanted to get ready to go out for dinner, we just asked for new towels and some water. The cleaner tried to charge us for the water so we just sent him away. I did bring all this to the attention of the receptionist on check out and she did apologise and said well this is not Europe! So I told her that was irrelevant as we live in the Middle East ourselves so that excuse didn’t wash! Would I stay here again? No, yes it’s relatively cheap but not particularly comfortable and the staff are sadly lacking. Location is good, right by the souk.

Everything was perfect. Room perfect and clean. Hotel well located. People so so nice (especially Maissa). We recommend 100% to everyone who would like to enjoy Mascate and the area. The hotel gives you bottles of water so don’t worry. Breakfast at Anna’s is good and until 11 am. People there are nice too.

This hotel is in a good location, the breakfast was decent, and the water pressure is okay. That's where the "positives" end. My biggest problem was the WiFi. It was terrible!! And before you roll your eyes and chalk that comment up to "Western Privilege," please note/remember that a key part of travel these days (especially for someone who travels as often as I do) is to be able to connect with others, and WiFi is the very basic of "needs" these days in order to do so. We were on the top floor (floor 4) and got absolutely ZERO signal. We went down the stairs to the floor below us and got a weak signal. But even in the lobby - within spitting distance of the router - we had full bars and extremely slow internet, if any at all. For a country as rich as Oman, this is really just unacceptable, and would keep me from staying here if I return to Oman.

That tells most of it, though the ocean-view rooms would be hard to equal for five times the price anywhere else in Oman (much less pricy Dubai or Abu Dhabi). Management was gracious when I showed up a day early and they allowed me to rest after a 6am flight. I noted old reviews on Google were written before the renovation, so those concerns about water pressure and age aren't accurate. The breakfast could use a little more variety but don't miss the saffron-and-spice karak tea they offer along with many coffees. The great ancient souk is just steps away, the National Museum and a decent beach are close by, and buses can be accessed from in front of the hotel (if you must take taxi, go for the orange-accented "shared taxis" that are much cheaper than the white ones). Cheap restaurants tend to be on the left side; any coffee shop has samosas and shawarma rolls for under a US dollar, and marvelous curries with fresh flatbread or rice pilaf for under $3. Lovely hotel in the best area of Muscat.

It's not posh or charming, but in Muscat, which is so expensive, this is probably the best budget option in the best area. My room was cheap and location is right along the corniche in a great walking area with loads of restaurants and the market, near the fish market. If you don't mind a walk, you can walk to the Palace. There is also a bus stop out front and tons of taxis about. My room had a TV and a bathroom and optional room service. I think I had to pay for breakfast, but it was good and not a lot of other things open early. Definitely recommend.

Strategic position, face to cornice in the hearth of Muttrah. Basic hotel with a breakfast not too varies. We, me ad my wife, stayed twice in Naseem hotel. Arriving in Oman for 3 days in room 19. 4 beds, but noise from the street and a terrible noise from the air conditioner. The conditioners are the same, old quality, in all the rooms and also the problem remains. Twice we were at top floor, room 43. fantastic view, and quite room, for 5 nights, after visiting the Country.. Friendly staff, but the value added of Naseem hotel, is its manager: Mr Sandeep. A very special person. He is a tour operator too, so, after helping you to be more confortable in the hotel, he will give you all the suggestions for visiting the city and the Country. So helpful with me that I could use, at night, his computer in his office for my work ! Unbelievable !!! You must know that during this spring, Naseem hotel will be renewed and it'll remanin closed for one year, more or less. Sure, I'll return to Naseem hotel, it was like at home. Ivanromeo.
