Our trip to Muscat took us to one of the city's most luxurious hotels - the
Kempinski Hotel Muscat.
From the first moment we felt welcome there and in good hands. The hotel impresses with its stylish architecture, which blends very harmoniously with the surroundings, and its prime location directly on the Gulf of Oman.

As soon as we entered the lobby, we were impressed by the noble ambience: modern elegance combined with Arabic flair. The spacious rooms offered maximum comfort- with comfortable beds, stylish interiors and breathtaking views of the sea or beautifully landscaped gardens. We found the tranquility and the well-kept atmosphere throughout the resort particularly pleasant.

Culinary diversity from the highest level
The culinary offer left nothing to be desired. We particularly enjoyed the rich breakfast buffet, which impressed with a wide selection of international and oriental dishes. The restaurants were also top notch - from Asian fusion cuisine to fresh seafood. The quality of the food and the presentation were at a very high level.

A highlight of our stay was the excellent service, especially by the pool. The staff was friendly and professional at all times. Our wishes were always met with a smile, be it the quick delivery of towels, or the free drinks in the cooler. This hospitality made the relaxing hours at the Poll or at the beach a real treat.

Our conclusion
Staying at Kempinski Hotel Muscat was a great experience for us. The luxurious ambience, the excellent cuisine and above all the outstanding service, especially by the pool, have made our holiday an unforgettable experience. We can highly recommend the hotel and are already looking forward to another visit.

I only spent one night at the Kempinski, and I wish I had more time there! The hotel is only an 8 min drive to the international airport and directly on the beach. Taxi was roughly $20 one-way, efficient, easy, CC accepted.

The checking process was as easy as it could've been, and the upgrade to the large suite was a nice gesture! The room was very comfortable with all amenities necessary for a great stay. The bed was very comfortable, and so were the pillows.

The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, though the eggs made to order were borderline not edible. The rest was fantastic, especially the fresh juices and dedicated staff. Room service was also very fast and excellent. The property was very well manicured, and the lobby was beautiful.

I highly recommend staying here while in Muscat, especially on a short stay. The close proximity to the airport is great, and the property is beautiful! Great room, good food, and outstanding dedicated staff members made for a great stay!

Absolutely wonderful place. We arrived early in the morning after an overnight flight and the check-in staff were so accommodating, both rooms available at 9am in the morning which was SO appreciated. Also accommodated our late check out as we went on a boat trip on our last day. Staff were incredibly helpful. Such a calm, relaxing atmosphere.

Breakfasts were absolutely superb - so much choice, all delicious and fresh, really good quality ingredients.

Gorgeous long pool, great for lengths and super beach views. Beach staff wonderful too - lovely touches such as provision of a mini-cooler with iced water in.

Gym was really well-equipped, but quite busy as think it's open to people living/staying locally also.

Had 3 nights here as a 'flop' prior to travelling to the mountains for exploring, just perfect. Rooms were v comfortable, v clean, comfy beds and provisioned.

Super location too - Travelled as a family with 2 young adult children. Near to launch spot for Daymaniat Islands trips. Walked to surrounding area and sampled local restaurants as well as the Indian at the hotel, Bukara. Slightly disappointed with food at Bukara as we love a spicy curry but think the flavours had been tempered - good chutney though which raised the spice level.

Bowling was v fun - just had a quick game as we decided it had to be done!

Overall, superb hotel in a great location, very friendly staff, amazing breakfasts, accommodating staff and all-round positive experience!

Kempinski Muscat is regarded as the top hotel in Oman. I made a last-minute booking and ended up paying $450 per night. We arrived at the hotel around 3 AM, feeling tired and worn out.

Upon checking in, there was only one staff member at the front desk, and no amenities were offered. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff member was friendly, but the lack of porter service at that late hour didn't align with the high standards of Kempinski.

The room was clean, but it had an issue with loud noise from the air conditioning. I contacted the reception, and a technician promptly arrived and fixed it within five minutes, and he was very cheerful.

The breakfast buffet was exceptional—one of the best I've experienced! After handling some business, we returned for lunch around 3 PM. We were informed that lunch was available from the buffet. However, after paying, which took about 15 minutes due to slow service, we discovered that the buffet was being cleaned. Although we were told it would be open until 4 PM, a particularly unpleasant waiter did not respond to our inquiries, and they decided to close it at 3 PM that day.

Feeling frustrated, we returned to the reception, and some managers came to assist us. As a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience, they offered us lunch at their Indian restaurant, which turned out to be very good.

We checked out early in the morning and were provided with a breakfast box containing a croissant, juice, and fruit, but unfortunately, there was no cutlery included.

I would typically rate this hotel a 5-star experience. However, I would say it was more of a solid 3-star stay. Due to the efforts made to rectify the situation—especially the assistance from the Russian lady in red—I will give the hotel a 4-star rating.

I look forward to returning and hope for better service during my next visit to Kempinski Muscat.

My husband and I stayed here for a baby moon/ anniversary present to ourselves. We stayed from the 25-27th January and all we can say is we loved pretty much every moment of our experience. Apart from the gorgeous decor, cleanliness and beautiful surroundings of the ocean, what really blew us away was the attentiveness of the staff working in Kempsinki Muscat. From the moment we stepped in, Bashir and the reception / concierge team made us feel so welcomed. Payal and the team at Amwaj lounge ended our lovely check in, taking the time and effort to explain how catering works. One of the team at Amwaj lounge was so kind by offering complimentary juice and crackers on a day I felt really unwell and had some pregnancy related sickness. The housekeeping and lifeguard team were so thorough with their jobs. Every evening dinner at the Kitchen felt like an event in itself, we looked forward to the delicious wide array options and cuisines available. It was amazing being able to request certain grilled meats from the Chefs themselves. Amit and his team were particularly attentive and exceptional. All we can say is thank you for making our time so memorable and giving us a beautiful ending to our trip in Oman

Had the most amazing Stay at Kempinski Hotel, The staff were extremely friendly from the minute we checked in and always had a smile on their face, You could tell that they were genuinely happy and passionate about working for Kempinski. Our Housekeeping Bbosa, was very friendly and made sure our rooms were clean and that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay at Kempinski.

We opted for the half board option, the food was delicious and they had a variety of choices. The staff in the Kitchen were very accommodating and made us feel special. They would check on us every 5-10 minutes and ask if we needed anything. I wanted to name a few of the staff in this review but it would be unfair as they were all so great and treated us very well.

Overall our stay in Muscat was made 100x more enjoyable because of the hotel

We're already planning our next stay at Kempinski and looking to bring more of our family members with us, as 7 days in Oman was not enough!

The hotel is beautifully built, there are 3 swimming pools, a tennis court, gym, restaurants and bowling available.

The Beach view in the lobby is the most beautiful, we truly did not regret opting for Kempinski Hotel when booking our trip to Oman

Al Mouj Marina is a 5-minute walk away, we would visit every day after dinner, there is a variety of restaurants and cafes amongst the Marina. We would catch our taxi from here as the Otaxi app would only configure luxury taxis within the hotel area which was a little pricey for us, especially as we were to make multiple trips throughout our stay, it all adds up.

The pictures do not do the hotel justice it is even better in real life! Please do not contemplate when booking this hotel as you will enjoy your stay here.

We recently enjoyed a family outing at Kempinski, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The check-in process was quick and seamless, and we were personally guided from the lobby to our room. The room itself was clean and well-arranged, with Mr. Abin from housekeeping ensuring everything was replenished, including our coffee and tea.

We explored the hotel and found the kids' clubhouse, where Ms. Ethel helped our children with games and ensured the area was spotless. Dinner at *The Kitchen* restaurant was a highlight—warm and welcoming, with the perfect table for our family of four. The food was exceptional, especially the seafood, with lobster and prawns as the standout dishes. Ms. Hanah and Ms. Princess took great care of us, ensuring we had everything we needed.

Our night swim at the Cascade pool was serene, followed by a restful sleep in the incredibly comfortable beds. The next morning, breakfast at *The Kitchen* was delightful, and Mr. Yousif, who was both funny and well-organized, made sure our kids were well taken care of, making things easier for us.

After breakfast, we spent time playing table tennis, archery, and basketball, and later headed to the main pool. Mr. Durai, the pool attendant, kindly set up chairs and umbrellas for us, and took care of snacks and drinks . During brunch, we were greeted by many Sri Lankan chefs—Dinesh, Maduka, Jayantha, Yohan, Yushrif, and Nasser—who ensured our meal had that authentic Sri Lankan touch, making us feel right at home.

Before leaving, we requested a late check-out, and the reception manager Ms Jaimy and Ms Maiza graciously approved it without hesitation. Overall, our experience at Kempinski was truly extraordinary.

Lastly, a small suggestion for the infinity pool area—adding some shade structures to the pool it self would be fantastic as it will help us swim without getting too sunburned; as the weather in Oman is often extremely hot and sunny for most of the year.

Exceptional hotel, in a more then positive sense!
From the reception to the rooms, the friendliness, helpfulness, quality, this is really VERY GOOD!
The food in "the Kitchen" is incredibly good, both in terms of quality and variety, as well as the fact that EVERYTHING is always available from the 1st to the last moment of opening hours! I have not encountered this yet (& I travel a lot).
The location is sensational, right on the beach where the sun rises every morning. The 37mx10m (!) Pool is 24-30 degrees warm, which is a great experience especially in the evening! Even after sunset you can swim under the clear starry sky. There are a lot of loungers that are very comfortable, umbrellas of course too, all included. In the afternoon at 14.00 the very friendly staff arrives and distributes free pre-cut watermelon pieces.
If you really want to let it all go and relax, then this is very easy!
All restaurants have excellent food, prices not particularly cheap, but the price is worth it!
10' walking distance is the center of the modern city part Al Maoui with other beautiful restaurants, 1 supermarket, pharmacy etc. Very pleasant.
We were here at the end of February 2025 and that was certainly not our last time!

Way too crowded to feel comfortable or 5 star during winter holidays. Sure a nice place at other times. This is far from luxury, has more of a youth hostel feel at times, feels cheap as they squeeze the maximum number of people into one place, especially during winter holidays. Too few tables for breakfast outside, people have to sit inside or wait.

No sunbeds available by the beach or the pool at 10.30 am, had to spend an hour by the baby pool… bad idea if you don’t travel with infants yourself.

Outside space generally is appropriate for a hotel maybe a quarter of the number of guests. I mean good for them and their business but just not right for me paying USD 1500 for a small junior suite and a small connecting room.

Not even the gym had sufficient large towels on the third day of my stay, apart from the fact that gym equipment is cheap stuff from Life Fitness and not Technogym as one would expect at a 5 star hotel….

I guess it is a great conference hotel but not for tourists looking to relax. Also still no valet parking years after opening.

The promise of „free cocktails“ coming with the suite is limited to a smelly cigar bar with only 5 of the cheapest cocktails as an option. Also when asking staff for direction to that one particular bar, the first two didn’t even know where to find it.

Wine availability via room service is very limited, the ones from room service menu (even though it’s only available online by scanning a QR code from the TV) not available in the first place and even the replacement option they only had one bottle.

On a positive note, the breakfast food quality is very good (apart from the omelette which is definitely some readymade kind of egg liquid and far from fresh eggs) and the Indian food is very high quality, which cannot be said of the mediocre Lebanese food.

Also, internet is bad. Moving through the hotel or even the suite it disconnects. Going to the balcony it disconnects. Going to Zale restaurant it disconnects. I am literally sitting on the balcony of my „suite“ booking my next holiday and it disconnects….

So much for that. I stayed here twice before for a short period, mainly due to location within Al Mouj, these four days were my last time here.

In short, the only outstanding and luxurious thing in the entire hotel is the Indian restaurant Bukhara. Service is immaculate there. There everything is perfect. Beyond that it is rather mediocre.

Fine, just fine 😍
The location is excellent, the cool Infinity pool, the wide coastline and its own beach with sunbeds. There is also a children's pool and another pool , where almost no people.
The hotel itself is big, beautiful, inside is just beautiful 😍 The smell is always beautiful. The area is beautiful, big, lots of greenery.
The room is excellent, fresh, modern, there is a shower and a large bathroom through a glass partition in room🥰 Cosmetics S Ferragamo👌Towels are snow white and soft.
Cleaning every day, thanks to Rajeshwar, he cleaned beautifully, always topped things up, and in the evenings came and wondered if I had enough. If I needed anything extra, he'd have no problem bringing it.
Chicardos Kitchen, thank the chefs.
Breakfasts are very good, dinners in general 🔥🔥🔥 Fish different, shrimp, mussels, lots of different meat and poultry different, there were and fish day rolls. Lots of vegetables, salads, fruits, cheeses. Many kinds of fried in the morning, the pastries are super.
For dinner, desserts are a masterpiece😍
The staff are all that at the reception, that in the restaurant, that in the hotel and pool are sympathetic, smiley, always help.
Very pleased and highly recommended 👍
