What to say about this property other than it is absolutely gorgeous! Mihir Garh will forever be in our hearts as it is also the location of my engagement with my fiancé! That aside, let me start by saying that the property itself is beautiful, clean, cosy and well maintained. We stayed in one of the rooms with the plunge pool and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious and well decorated it was! You truly feel like a maharaja when you walk into one of these rooms! The service is impeccable, you are looked after with a level of detail and precision that only royalty could hope for! The food is excellent offering a healthy variety of delicious cuisines (their local dishes are a must)! They have the most beautiful stables with even more beautiful Marwari horses. My fiancé loves to ride and she spent both mornings of our stay galloping into the wilderness with one of their professional guides! Overall the feeling you get when you arrive at this property is that of home! Even the owners do their best to send someone from the family to welcome you personally during your stay which makes it that much more welcoming! What else can I say about this property? I could stay here for hours writing about how dreamy this property and location is and still would probably not do it the justice it deserves! Therefore all I will say is, if you are thinking of visiting this hotel, stop thinking and just book it! You will not regret it! I personally recommend it!…
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, with no signs of habitation in sight. No lights from neighbours. Looking like an ancient fort, the 8 room boutique property is a relaxing oasis, with a wonderful pool, excellent service and food, and many cozy niches in which to relax. Rides horses? This is a perfect spot, with many places to tide, and many horses. They also breed horses. Huge, comfortable rooms. Strong WiFi. Get a room with a plunge pool. Be sure to take the village tour, where we also saw several antelope and rare birds. And the Shikar dinner is a Must Do. If you seek a spot to relax, this is it. It’s an hour from Jodhpur, and a great place to break-up your journey between Jodhpur and Udaipur.
We stayed here during the Holi weekend of March 2022, with our extended family and friends. The resort is a 1 hour drive from the airport and easy to get to. On arrival we were welcomed and shown to our rooms. We found the rooms themselves very nice and luxurious. They have nice seating areas, and are spacious, and well laid out. The rooms also have pool, or a jacuzzi. Our particular room had a jacuzzi. We however, did use the common pool and the pool attached to the other rooms. Unfortunately the pools are quite small, and may not be enjoyed by someone who is expecting a full length pool. The food is quite decent, but not very good. We visited their sister property for a Holi celebration, as there was no Holi celebration at this property. They do have a nice common area to relax and sit. However, the Resort is located in desert, and there is nothing much to do while there. Do not expect a lot of activities for kids or adults.…
Wow, what a gorgeous place. The suites in the hotel are the very definition of luxury. The surrounding desert is absolutely beautiful. We had as private jeep safari that was such fun. The resort was very quiet I think as a result of covid keeping tourism down. We had dinner and breakfast poolside and the food was wonderful. Our only regret is that we only had one night at Mihir Garh.
An oasis in the desert Mihirgarh is a luxury properties with beautiful rooms and world class service. the entire property is surrounded by a desert forset, lots and wildlife can be seen, sun set and sun rises are gorgeous. Its an hour drive from Jodhpur the drive is also very interesting through rural area some part of road is not good but overall its a fun drive.
I have thus far stayed twice at Mihir Garh, once in 2017 and a second time in 2020. In both cases, I was traveling with relatives. Mihir Garh is an absolute gem! Both stays were equally spectacular. The property is located off the beaten tracks, at the edge of the Thar Desert, an hour or so by car from Jodhpur. It is also surrounded by Bishnoi villages to which a visit makes for a delightful experience. Mihir Garh itself is comprised of several structures including stables where purebred horses are raised and trained. The accommodations as well as the restaurant and the pool are located in the largest building, a replica of a Rajasthani Fort of which the architecture is simply mind blowing. The suites are spread across two floors and boast private plunge pools or jacuzzis. Every room is incredibly spacious, perfectly comfortable and offers mesmerizing views of the surroundings. The restaurant serves succulent local dishes. All meals can be served poolside or in the elegant traditional dining room. The service is kind and discreet but also very efficient. Mihir Garh is a unique property for discerning travelers seeking simple sophistication, peace and quiet, and lovely attentions. It is undoubtedly a destination to which I could come back over and over again.…
I visited Mihirgarh in August with friends and we had the most amazing time. We were struck with the beauty of the structure rising in the desert surrounding by wilderness. Everything was par excellence from the interiors to the food to the service. The meal was fine dining at its best. The staff was extremely courteous and looked after our every need. We were not given any opportunity to complain. Simply put, if you want to be spoilt, head to Mihirgarh since it is luxury at its best...
Unprofessional and Rude front desk staff, Manager and Owner. Charged Extra beds without placing extra beds in room ! To brief you – We had made the booking for two rooms and there were 5 adults and 3 kids in total. There was no discussion during check in about anything. In evening around 6.30pm, one of the manager at hotel approached us and advised that there is an extra person along with you and that would be chargeable, which we immediately agreed to, as the booking was made on double occupancy. Then we clarified with them that the kids are all below 10 years of age and we do not need any extra beds except for one adult. He never mentioned any charges until this time. In the morning during checkout he added 4000Rs. Per child x 3 children = total 12000rs in the invoice, we requested them to kindly waive the charges as we had not taken any extra beds for any children but he completely ignored to and said that the kids are all above 5 years of age and we have a policy of charging 4000rs per child above 5 years. We told this guy that 1. Firstly you should have informed us about any such charges when we checked in. 2. Secondly, if there were extra charges for kids then you should have atleast provided with extra beds in room which you didn’t. 3. Thirdly, the other couple along with us had stayed in past at the same property, made similar booking and brought their same kids and you haven’t charged for these kids in previous stay ! 4. Fourthly, we are agreeing to pay for the extra adult along and that should be it ! It was not about paying extra having 1. This would have been communicated during check in and agreed between us. 2. They should have atleast provided extra beds in night if they were to charge. 3. And they should have behaved politely and professionally. Inspite of our several requests made, they did not agree to waive charges ! To our surprise, the manager Suryaveer tells me that thank us that we are not charging you for late check out – We were checking out at 11.47am and as per him the check out time is 11am. We did call owners of the property but to our surprise they were equally not more accommodating to their guests even when there are so few rooms. The owners son did not even respond to our messages and whatsapp. This was completely expected, rude, unprofessional and unethical cheating by the property to charge the guests extra for service not provided or mentioned. They cheated us as all kids and ladies were waiting in the car during check out and they knew that we would pay these charges at last minute .. They were shameless of their act and we paid them for extra charges and left with unhappy and shocking end to trip. Shame on name of Relais and Chateaux association !…
What to write about this beautiful place !! It’s beyond words . Whether it’s the design element or the symphony of the silence to luxury and warmth , they have covered it all and how!! The moment you step in , you would know why it’s so well awarded But what deserves the most award here is the warmth of the staff !! Their smile and service touches your Heart in a very special way Thank you Mihirgarh for the most beautiful stay I ever had
My wife and I stayed at Mihir garh to bring in her 30th birthday. We actually visited in after Umaid Bhawan and had a very high bar set. But Mihir Garh managed to top Umaid Bhawan by miles. Just the hospitality, the finesse and the passion put into this place is unbelievable. I had a surprise planned for my wife but I wasn't really sure on how that would get executed. Suryaveer and his team managed to even top my vision of what the set up could look. My wife fell in love with me again :D From the dinners to the Blackbuck Safaris with Bhupendra to evening Aartis and a special visit by none other than the other himself. We will remember each moment spent here and hope to go back to experience the hospitality of the House of Roger some day soon.
