First of all our check in was early and much appreciated. Outstanding service from everyone at the front desk. I’m so sorry I didn’t get her name but a young dark haired girl checked us in and gave us bottled water whenever we needed it. Special thanks to Wassef who checked us out and printed out our paid bill. I’m a Marriott Bonvoy member and my points posted in about 2-3 days. Again, a well run front desk. The buffet breakfast offered was delicious and we opted to order omelettes most days along with the hot and cold offerings. The best part of the breakfast was our delightful servers and especially Miss Sophia and her colleague Supe. This hotel is conveniently located close to the La Defense Metro. RER A or M 1 make it very easy to get anywhere in Paris. Also convenient to Gare St. Lazare. We took a short train ride to Rouen and it was one of our favorite days. Of course Paris was very busy the week between Christmas and New Years Day. We are in our late 60’s and had no problem at all navigating from this hotel on public transportation. Those who want a good value for their money may want to definitely consider this hotel. Our daily room rate was $201 (USD). Other Marriott properties in Paris were double or more for smaller rooms. We had a corner suite. No noise from hallway or next door or below us. I like quiet at night and this was the perfect place for us. We popped up out of the metro the last night to see Galerie La Fayette in the Opera area. Wall to wall people there. So glad I didn’t consider that Marriott property. We had a large mall right between the metro and the Renaissance La Defense that was gorgeous. Anything you ever wanted was here. Restaurants, department stores and specialty stores. Very vibrant! Don’t scratch this property off your list. We really loved it and we’re so happy that we chose this hotel.…
I stayed at this hotel for a week. Being a Titanium member of Marriott Bonvoy, I received my eligible upgrade. I felt like home. Very cosy and nice hotel, with everything close by (Restaurants, shops, pedestrian, metro etc.). Westfield mall is right across the hotel! This Renaissance hotel also has a club lounge! Which is something rare for a Renaissance. Due to COVID19, however, there was no happy hour, but the lounge had everything else needed. I personally loved the location as it is close to Eiffel tower and all major attractions by metro, yet it is away from the crowd and car traffic. The Grand Arch is 2 minutes walk, where people sit there in joy enjoying the nice Art and sculptures around that big space in front of the Arch. The hotel staff were super friendly and always responded to my needs. Special thanks to "Marina" who works at he reception desk. She accommodated all my requests in a timely manner. I would stay there again when in Paris. In general, I loved the La Defense area.…
I stayed here in early October for a weekend trip to Paris. The hotel is a bit far from the city center but easily reachable using the underground or light rail. The hotel itself is quite nice, the rooms are comfortable and spacious. However, the room was quite hot at night and the air-conditioning wasn't really working. We asked the staff to try to fix it, but they weren't really able to do anything. The breakfast buffet was also very nice with quite a lot of options. I would recommend staying here for a short stay or longer if on business in the area,
Great hotel. No executive lounge yet. Breakfast was great. Great location for metro, train station and shopping center. Rooms are clean and very good. Parking is available but small number available The shopping center has some good restaurants
Perfectly located at La Defense right next to the monument. Concert hall is right there too. Great open plaza leading to restaurants and a mall. Good gathering place outside with water fountains running during the summer. Easy location with the subway stop here. Good location if you don’t want to deal with the tourists along Champs Elysees. Watch out, parking lot entrance is hard to find. It took me 3 go arounds to get in.
Stayed 5 nights here in sept 2022 Location and parking is confusing. Drive 15 minutes to figure out how to enter hotel parking lot 40 minutes to downtown Paris in traffic Garage doors lock passed 8pm and waiting 30 minutes and no one opens Lounge given on first night and then taken away later nights Lounge had no alcohol only some water and soda. Every hilton diamond lounge I have been to has alcohol Cooked eggs in breakfast costs 7 euro extra No housekeeping on 2nd day of stay Generally a very confusing designed hotel
Hotel is quite old and tired, not of the best Renaissance I have been to. Check-in was very slow, and they disabled the automatic checkout with the app. People are nice and they do what they can, but the system needs some improvement. In the end I was quite disappointed.
Modern hotel and bathroom, with two double bed option, part of the Marriott chain o hotels - this one is the Renaissance brand. The room itself was a bit worn (i.e. towel railing falling off, carpeting alright, but worn), but the bathroom was clean, modern, and they provided slippers upon request. The wifi was free, the air-conditioning was fine, but does not go below 24C. So, if you are travelling during the summer months - and usually want strong air-conditioning, might be a factor to consider. Property is in La Defense, a bit far from Paris, but one stop by RER from Etoile, more stops if traveling via the Metro. Suggest buying an unlimited day pass for 13 euros (zone 1-3 only), if intending on traveling by public transport. Not pleasant on hot days. Cab rides from central Paris, a bit long, about 30-35 on up. Also, note that while there are many restaurants and a Westfield shopping center nearby, most places close between 8:45 - 9 pm on the weekdays, and lunch hours commercial building nearby have very limited opening hours, and close after lunch.…
My wife and I have stayed at this hotel several times pre-covid. We love the area, proximity to the metro, nearby shopping mall, restaurants, arena, and grocery store. Unfortunately, this was not a good experience. The staff was extremely limited, the lounge experience was dramatically scaled back, and service was average at best. Everyday we had to ask for towels due to shortages. Normally, we would call the front or ask staff in the hallway for help. However, after calling downstairs without success, we had to take the lift to the lobby to make the request. The staff was present but for some reason we had trouble during the week getting in contact via our room phone. The room was sub par and disappointing. There was a sewage like smell everyday in the early afternoon that subsided by the evening. Also, like other reviews, I agree that the rooms were very hot. The AC worked but was not very good in my room. The restaurant was also understaffed. The menu was limited and closed very early. My wife could not order a salad as they only offered certain items during our stay. I am a life time titanium elite member. I love Marriott but this hotel did not live up to the standard and I cannot recommend it until improvements are implemented.…
We stayed for 2 nights. People at reception are chatty (mostly very young staff). Despite low occupancy of this business hotel over the weekend, we were not offered an upgrade and were told we are better off staying where we are. They could but they did not bother to make an effort. Window opens only a crack and does not let enough fresh air in. Aircon is just not blowing cold enough air to actually cool the room. I am a slim person who is normally always cold but even I had trouble sleeping in the stuffy room. I would say that the hotel is probably not the best choice during hot weather which has been highlighted in other reviews. We had to chase bathrobe / they had only one and no sleepers. For the price paid and Renaissance standards I think these shortcomings cannot be overlooked. Now to positives - location is good, short walk to the transport, shopping mall and it is only one stop on RER to Arc de Triomphe (zone 1-3). It is relatively quiet at night and we felt really safe. There was hardly anyone staying on our floor. If you after the views and Parisian atmosphere though - you won’t find it here we we were in Paris multiple times before and we don’t mind. TV has good selection of channels but BBC 1 connection is patchy. There is plenty of shelving in the bathroom and half wall to the toilet for more privacy. We would perhaps return but not in the summer months.…
