The restaurant has a very special African atmosphere. I am a frequent visitor there taking children of our children's home out for an outing. They can play in a safe playground, use the swimming pool and take a walk to the beautiful lagoon within the complex. Even a "boatride" on their raft is possible. The restaurant is very hospitable and... More

We stayed here for the start of our group trip to South Africa. Where it was very basic it was a stunning location and great for going down to the beach and lagoon. The dinner from the restaurant was great and the provided breakfast was good with plenty of food. We felt very welcome and had all our need accommodated

Just spent the weekend at the mosquito infested lodge! Sandy campsites surrounded by overgrown trees and bush. Ablutions old. Swimming pool green, kids pool empty. 2 dilapidated swings for kids...The saving grace for our weekend was the fact we could ski/tube on the lagoon. The lagoon area could be made so lovely, however its a long walk to the toilets... More

Booked for weekend but left the next morning. We stayed in one of the 3 bedroom self catering units with a beautiful view of the lagoon. One of the first things we spotted was a large rat running across the verandah. The pots were packed in the same cupboard as the rubbish bin and when I opened it, large cockroaches... More

I did not stay at the lodge...but my experience today made me want to read reviews.... And yes I agree with so many. What a weird and UNWELCOMING place. Don't spoil your holiday... Go somewhere else. I spent the day I'm zinkwaz and wanted to go to the restaurant. So I signed in and drove to the restaurant. It was... More

Isolated from restaurants and town. Staff were unavailable, and inaccessible. The room was tidy, but very worn and extremely dated. There was a detailed rule list in the room that requested all guests to walk through every inventory item (spoon to towels) with a staff member. If the guest does not perform this detailed and tedious check, they are liable... More

My wife and I were in search of a camping site on the KZN North Coast. Reception was extremely unhelpful. There were no hot water at the ablution blocks - reception informed us that the geysers are only switched on on 11 December. Reception also indicated that the grounds were not attended to out of season, this after I enquired... More

Not having camped in years, I was basically forced to go this route due to non availability of chalets and or resorts for this time of the year. The Camping sites are divided by plant life which offers a sense of privacy between the different sites. The entire Park is covered by a canopy of indigenous trees and shrubs which... More

Just returning from 8 days at Zinkwazi Lagoon Lodge, and must report how disappointing the experience was. The beds are covered in plastic sheets, the place seems to be slowly decaying into the coastal vegetation. The staff were neither friendly nor unfriendly( just doing their job). The place def has room for improvement, I expected much more for the R25000... More

“We did not stay in the Lagoon Chalets, but they are right on the Lagoon. You basically walk out of your Chalet onto the grassy lawn next to the Lagoon where there is a launching facility for boats only. Looks quite nice.”
