My wife and I stayed here for two nights earlier this month. It has a very convenient location to visit Mount Etna. The location is excellent with a great view of the valley if the day is clear. Early in the morning one can see the lights in the small town down below. It is nicely tucked away from the crowded cable car area. The owner and his family are good hosts. We are vegetarians, His wife cooked delicious patas for us. And different ones each day. Thank you. I would stay here again.
I and my partner stayed there for visiting the volcano. The room is spacious and the owner is very nice and friendly. Since the villa is quite remote, we dined at the hotel and the food was prepared good and tasty! We enjoyed the stay here! Worth to try!
Great location , wonderful views from A very comfortable room and the restaurant , delightful owner and staff , great home cooked food . Sunrise and sunset stunning on day one as there was no cloud . We had a 6 month baby - the cot and high chair and anything we needed for him was always there before asking . Simply perfect . Ideal location to explore Etna and the surrounding area and be at cable car before the coaches from the resorts on the coast Tip - put the location of the hotel in google maps when you set off as phone reception is patchy in places on the way up the mount . Why stay anywhere else ?
We stayed for one night prior to visiting Etna. This is a beautiful property with lovely views (if you are lucky!) in a very peaceful location. Its perfect for visiting Etna (10 mins drive). We arrived about 5.30 and after checking in we drove up to Etna, Wow - had the place almost to ourselves (lifts are closed by then and day trippers have left) and spent about 90 mins walking and taking in the views etc. We returned for dinner (arranged when booking) which was lovely and good value. the pasta (eggplant and cheese) was the best we had anywhere during our stay in Sicily with the lemon meatballs coming a close second. Service was friendly and they happily kept our luggage after check out so that we could collect after our visit up to Etna the following day. Overall best value stay of our 9 days in sicily.…
As part of a tour of Etna we had a Sicilian tasting menu at this hotel. Very delicious food and a beautiful location! Not sure what the rest of the hotel is like but I would recommend from the service we received on our visit!
Verry nice hosts, good service and delicious food! The nature is beauty full. Good place for having a hike, go by bike or just enjoy the nature. See the nice vulcans on the Etna, go with a kabel car and a special car up and walk down. For shore I recommend this place.
What a wonderful hotel ☺️We were so very well looked after that we didn't want to leave. A lovely dinner cooked to typical Sicilian perfection and an equally lovely breakfast. Marina, our host, ensured that our stay was most comfortable. Location is perfect although a car would be necessary. We will definitely visit again.
My sister and I booked Hotel Villa Dorata last minute as we were winging our trip around Sicily. The place is cozy with a wood burning fire place in the main dining room. We were a little late arriving and the staff couldn't have been more hospitable. This place is family owned and the owners became like family over night!! The food in the restaurant is delicious and breakfast is included in the morning. The views from here are amazing and the staff is just top notch!! Rooms are cozy and spacious too! If you are debating booking this place think no more! Best little chalet on Etna!!
Spent a lovely 5 days at this hotel. The hospitality was incredible; food at the hotel was all home made and genuine. The hotel staff were all very accommodating and helpful with all our needs. The hotel used to be a hunting lodge so it's rooms are large and very pretty. The hotel has views of the Etna and one can see all the way down to Catania and the see. Highly recommended.
We are staying at Hotel Villa Dorata this evening and were pleasantly surprised with the large size of our room and well equipped bathroom. We have been traveling Italy for a month and the shower was large with good pressure and endless hot water. It was perfect after a day exploring My Etna which was a 7 minute drive away! The owners also made some delicious pistachio treats which were delicious! The staff were friendly though their English was limited. The bed was large and comfy.
