We arrived in Mocoa late at night after traveling from ipiales and were taken to casa del rio by a taxi driver who insisted this was the place to stay. When we arrived the owner greeted us and I asked her how much the dorms were per night. She said 25,000 per person including breakfast. We agreed to stay and...

This hostal was written up positively in a guide book as run by a Belgian with a garden full of birds and small monkeys. The Belgian is gone and there were no birds or small monkeys to be seen.It was in fact an expensive place and poor value. We took a private room but we had no privacy and could hear...

The surroundings is very nice, with a river running trough the area of the hostel. The rooms are close to the road so you here traffic all the time. Rooms are a bit bland and boring and needs maintenance. Good info about what to do in and around Mocoa. To pricey for what you get. Soggy mattresses.

Stayed there for an overnight stop and went there because of the good recommandations of TA and lonely planet. Actually its not... Aparently the owner changed shortly before and its supposed to not be the same anymore. First of all, they wanted 30k, brouhght'em down to 25k. Garden site is nice but could be treated better. Rooms are dirty, spiderwebs...

We were on a budget so we were staying in the hammocks outside which were 1/2 the price of the rooms. Very late in the evening and after it had gotten dark we were told that the hammock area was being used for an ayahuasca ceremony and we had to sleep in a different area far from the toilets and...

The kitchen is off limits for guests even tough the place is miles away from the nearest restaurants. We had bought fresh food unaware that we could not use the kitchen. When we started cooking the staff stopped us and we begged to be allowed to use the kitchen but they still said no even if it meant we could...

The hostel is a 5 minutes taxi ride outside of town so there is nothing to eat around and the new management decided that you can't cook in the hostel so every time you're hungry think to go to town and forget about food if you get hungry lets say after 9:00 pm. The hostel is nice but you will...

Stayed 2 nights in a double with private bathroom and satellite tv for 46.000. Bed was comfy. Shower cold. There was a hammock on the small veranda. The cabins are all a bit tasteless. Ours was very close to the road were trucks pass by every hour of the day and night. Bring earplugs. The place is for sale and...

Hostel is situated outside the city close to the river with a nice surrounding, I think it is the best choice for Mocoa. The rooms had all standards for a good hostal, personal helped me with all my problems.

“The main road is noisy all night with logging lorries, so get a room as far away from the road as you can. Clothes can take up to 2 days to dry with the humidity and there is no dryer.”

“The location of the hostel rooms is in a wooded area that lies below a major road that has nearly continual heavy traffic and was quite noisy. While there is no swimming pool a dip in the river is very refreshing! There is also a tennis court as the proprietor is a tennis enthusiast.”
