Stayed in a cabin with my wife while my son and family stayed in their tent Communal kitchen area's which were busy both morning and evening, supplied with crockery, cutlery, pots and pans etc The sand flies were a real pest so make sure you have plenty of protection The area around the site is fabulous and boat trips to...

BUT As others have reported the noise levels at night at the Barn are ridiculous. We booked two tent sites a couple of weeks before arriving and were given two large sites near the kitchen and all facilities. As I said nocomplaints about the location of the facilities Through the day it was very quiet but as night arrived the...

We stayed in a cabin at The Barn for one night before a brief Abel Tasman Track experience then moving on. It was a fairly standard camping ground set up designed for short term travellers who mostly are presumably going to walk the track. The cabin was clean, tidy and comfortable and we were pleasantly surprised to find linen and...

The location is great - you basically cannot get closer near the entrance to Abel Tasman. Also, you can walk to two good places for dinner. I had a double cabin which had a very nice sunrise view in the morning and the mattress was also good. The facilities are good but it is more of a camping site than...

If sleeping through the day and partying at night is your gig, then this is the place to stay. Don't expect much sleep after the camper van loads of under 25's roll in for the night. Camp manager doesn't seem to care too much, but then why would he? He's far enough away in another field not to be bothered.

Hey Thanks for your feed back. We hope everybody has a good stay that comes to The Abel Tasman National Park and The Barn. We have a selection of Cabins, Dorm rooms and Camping sites to try and suit your style of travelling. We do not condone noise after 10:30pm and as such have nightly patrols around this time. We...

Nice hostel with good facilities. The place is clean and comfortable. The only fault was the staff, their attitudes were terrible, really unhelpful and ignorant especially Rhonda. I think they need to improve their manners because they have a great place.

Very friendly and humorous hosts await you at The Barn with rather spectacular views. Facilities are equipped with everything you'd need and if you happen to arrive on a soggy day, don't fear as there will be a roaring fire in the communal area. As a frequent camper, I'd say it's the best I've come across.

Great spot. Keen to help everyone, finding spaces to park the campers, even though the masses had arrived after 2 days of constant rain. Nothing was too much trouble. Helped us to book trips and organised free transport. We would highly recommend. Well done guys. The

The Barn has the option of camping, campervans, cabins and dorms so someting or everyone. It was really clean, well run, toilet facilities for campers were excellent. I was impressed that they haven't just tried to fit in as many tents and campervans as possible, so each tent pitch has a good amount of room and the bathrooms were never...

I stayed here just one night but it was very nice. Clean and decent matresses, mosquito nets on windows, showers and toilets were good. Reception has drinks, some food and leaflets. Short walk to the beach where there is a restaurant. And even shorter walk to most of the kayak companies. I didn't use the kitchen or lounge facilities so...
