Comfortable room opening on to the gardens. Dinner very good but take a torch! we had a table for two tucked away at the back out of reach of the main lights! Nevertheless an enjoyable stay. Hope to visit again.

We had an excellent meal and would recommend the restaurant...... however the rooms were in an annex and frankly were like a cheap chalet at a holiday park, the furniture was odd and the floor uneven?

Steeped in history? Beautifully decorated but comfortable not over-pretentious. Amazing food display in restaurant. Lovely staff; especially Fiona on reception who was always smiling and nothing too much trouble. Received complimentary upgrade to gorgeous room 1; bay window overlooking grounds ; large en suite and walk in dressing room Comfortable but small double bed for such a huge room; needs...

service and atmosphere was great , but food let it down. The gravy was watery and didn't taste of anything. The beef was fatty and cut too thick. Lamb not great. Roasters mediocre. Veg was nice though , and lots of variety. £14.95 for 2 courses. But with dessert it takes it to £20. There are better Sunday lunches around...

On the recommendation of a friend we attended this restaurant with high expectations for a birthday meal. I had the pork belly roast and I can't remember what my husband had as it was that unmemorable. Perhaps we chose inferior items, but the food was mediocre at best. I have had many a pork belly and this one does not...

Visited 02nd Jan. Only a few tables with guests so wasn't the normal atmosphere. Starter of pate and asparagus. Couldn't fault. 2 Sirloin Steaks with pepper sauce for mains. Delicious. Chargrilled finish and tender and juicy inside. The standard of food here is always high. My only gripe was that for a Monday night, the 2 course option £17.99, wasn't...

I would recommend The Priory for a great meal and service it was the first time for me to go there and loved it. The fresh produce on show for you to pick looked lovely and fresh. I had the lamb shoulder it was so tender. Try it for yourselves I'm sure you would love it.

This hotel is old. Parts of it date to 1180. When we checked in the woman at the reception desk said that there was a problem with our room—the jacuzzi jets weren’t working. I commented that this was not catastrophic, and she handed my husband a large key. He went to check the room while I was looking at a...

Our room was spacious, and everything was there. We had one stupendous a la carte meal, and a meal from the set 2 course menu. Apart from a piece of smoked mackerel which may have originated from the Roman Museum opposite, this was good value. The staff were helpful as usual, especially Gaby, our breakfast waiter. Highly recommended.
