Comfortable room in this historic building. You choose food from a great selection on a board at one end of the restaurant. Quality food, attentive staff, great breakfast, all let down by a freezing shower. Would come again but not before getting a guarantee that the plumbing is sorted!

Staying at hotels week in week out gets very boring so when I decided to take a punt on this one after 30 years of another local hotel I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is very good but beware should you get the waiter that I got as my requests for him to correct my order met with a bit...

Yes, well mine were tiddlers, but that's not what the title is about. This place is suffering from its own success. The last time I was eating in such numbers it was at One Wing Mess, RAF Halton. There was not a square inch of floor space that was not taken up with diners; you have to slalom around them...

We visited the Hotel for a one night stay, as the majority of people probably do, after a walk around the Roman Museum and Roman Fortress baths. We couldn't have been made anymore welcome on arrival and were greeted as soon as we arrived in reception and asked would we like to get some lunch while we were waiting for...

Visited on the weekend as a group of 10 adults. Had a brilliant time and meal. Worked out cheap between us all as well considering the amount we drank haha. Been on a few works nights out here too and always had good food and a good time

I was really looking forward to staying at the Priory... The photos online showed such plush rooms. However, the room we were put in (18) was motel quality. I would advise you to see your room before you stay here. This is the tiniest double bed I have ever slept in. The toilet dripped a lot, all night long. The...

We recently tried to book a 2 night stay. We are a couple in our mid 50's and As my husband is a wheelchair user we need an accessible room with a wet room. The receptionist explained they had one room that would suit our needs and it was free. However because they have chosen to put the wet room...

On booking, I requested a quiet room. However we were allocated room no.6 which is right above the bar/restaurant and was noisy until midnight. No soundproofing at all, we could hear almost every word. Plus the corridors creaked and we heard everyone coming to bed (the last at 3.40am). The Priory looks like it's a good hotel but I definitely...

Enjoyed a sumptuous meal and overnight stay here. Very good value with excellent service. Rooms are full of character and very comfortable. The food selection is very comprehensive and reasonably priced . I would recommend a visit
