Our second visit to Crown Cottage and every bit as good as the first. Janet and Ian are perfect friendly hosts. Excellent room and great breakfast. We will definitely be returning. The Miners in the village does excellent meals and is well worth a visit. Don and Carol

I stayed for two nights at the Crown Cottage to take part in the Pure Outdoor activity weekend. Perfect venue for this as it is only a few minutes by car to the activity centre. Was welcomed by the lovely couple who own the B & B and they did everything they could to make me feel welcome. The room...

Ian and Janet go out of their way to make you feel welcome and provide advice on walks and the area more generally. A filling breakfast. Great common space for guests - a nice and not always common feature of b&bs.

The location is lovely, every bit the quaint English village, and very close to some stunning 'Peaks' locations. It's quite comfy and feels very cozy and homely in a good way, and Ian and Janet are lovely hosts who really help in planning your way around the area.

We stayed overnight in a twin room. We were made welcome with a refreshing cup of tea and biscuits and a chat with Janet and Ian. Both know the area so very well and can recommend the best places to visit. We particularly enjoyed our walk to the boundary stone and the great views on the way. A lovely B&B...

We had a lovely stay at this b&b run by friendly hosts. Nice room with everything you need and delicious breakfasts. Well situated to explore the area, we can recommend national trust run longshaw estate for a nice place to walk, and nearby curry cottage for a fantastic meal.

They are knowledgeable about the area and suggested lots of places for us to visit. The B&B itself is very cosy and the rooms are impeccably clean. The breakfast was very tasty and...

Ian and Janet are the perfect hosts; very friendly and accommodating. Both gave us some great helpful tips for what to do and see, where to eat etc. The en-suite double room was very comfortable and quite spacious with tea/coffee-making facilities, hair-dryer, good-sized wardrobe and comfy bed. We had a spacious en-suite with bath and shower. Very clean and nicely...

A good old-fashioned B&B. Janet and Ian are full of stories about the area and great conversationalists, and can always suggest things to see and do in the area. 'Only teeny tiny glitch is the over-bright street lights at the front, but they do switch off at midnight (and you can hardly blame the owners). A good base to explore...
