We have just stayed the weekend at Alison House for our wedding. There is not a fault I can write about this place everything was superb. From the moment we booked this place for our wedding Sharon and her staff were excellent, they answered every question and we were able to go and visit whenever we needed. The staff, service,...

This is an excellent guest house that's spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough to accommodate any and all of our needs. It's set in well kept grounds. We stayed in Room 9 and were very comfortable

The groupon voucher we used was for a main meal for 2. The food was nice, not a huge choice and extra for steak. The desserts were fairly expensive for what you got. However, the setting is good and it is a lovely place to go an eat.

Lovely staff, very friendly and polite! However to me it isn't really a four star hotel and was expensive for what you pay. Late check in time (3pm) and early checkout (10am) the wifi was horrendous. We stayed in the cottage and it was a small, clean room that was either boiling hot with heating on or freezing without it...

I would advise avoiding the Cottage if the room you book is in that building. There is definitely some sound proofing issues in this other section of the Hotel Alison as we could hear lights being switched on in other rooms, people talking and even using the Bathroom. Yet again, a hotel displays a picture of its main building and...

We had a really special time here at Alison House celebrating my dad's 90th Birthday lunch. The staff were helpful all through the booking process, and were so welcoming and accommodating for our lunch (several people were late due to big motorway problems that day, but they just put it on hold until we were ready). The dining room was...

Me and my fiancée (both mid 20s) stayed here on Valentine's Day. On arrival, we were greeted by pleasant, welcoming staff who made us feel right at home. The room was presented to an excellent...

Booked our Groupon voucher for the 13th Feb. Hotel is off the beaten track, would of never known it was there. Greeted and taken to the bar area, and then shown to our table. Very good menu choice, and compliments to the chef, steak was cooked to perfection. Excellent value for the money we paid. What a little gem!
