Pension Irene was our Plan B after being unable to secure a booking at our regular place! However.....we are so happy we found this little gem! The couple who own it were fantastic...warm and friendly and always happy to assist....our language barrier was a non-issue! Pension Irene is spotlessly clean and our rooms were spit-polished each day. It is very...

A fairly good option in Sougia. Good value for money in these well-appointed modern studios. Chose rooms giving onto the garden. The place is run by a very nice elderly couple and the grocery shop is just acrosse the road.

The owners of this small pension (14 rooms) are so friendly and a pleasure to stay with. The rooms have a balcony or terrace to sit and are quite spacious. They have a fridge (nice in the hot summer) and a decent bed. Moreover: it is spotlessly clean. Bathroom is a bit worn out but functional although I prefer a...

nice welcome from the hosts. Located on the main road, calm and comfortable stay. We stayed here to enjoy the Samarias Gorges and it was a pleasure. Rooms are basic but spacious enough, and clean Nice typical cretan restaurants around

The lady who runs the place is absolutely lovely, we felt very welcome. The room was great; a well sized, airy, light and nicely decorated room with balcony, fridge, kettle and tv. The pension is situated right in the centre of the village, conveniently next to the shop, bakery and bus stop which made it very easy for the early...

Pension Irene, not to be confused with Hotel Santa Irene, is an adequate place to stay. The custodians and friendly and helpful, the pension is not far from the beach and there is a bakery virtually opposite, (handy as the pension does not provide a breakfast service) and an excellent a few yards up the road. Sougia is a quiet...

Sougia is a dreamy beach town that is what Florida and Hawaii were like years ago. The hotel was comfortable, and it was near very good restaurants. They served a lovely breakfast--French press coffee and delicious eggs. I'd love to stay a week there and just ruminate.

Just returned from a nine night stay at this property. A great base for walking the gorges and hills of Western Crete. The bus stops right outside and are currently 3 services a day. Friendly and informative people running the little shop and bakery opposite and have all you need for a holiday, in our case as diverse as superglue...

Just off the road along the beach is the location of this small pension. Rooms are very much the same as most other places but they are reasonably priced. Despite being on a busy road, it was quiet enough and we could sleep well. On the day of departure it was no problem to leave our luggage in the hotel....

Stayed one night in this accomodation. They rent out rooms.Good situation, just couple of doors up the street from the main sea front. Spotlessly clean. Our room was on the corner of the building, and the balcony overlooked the street, and had a side view over to the sea. Lovely. Plenty of tavernas nearby. We opted for The Rebetika. taverna,...
