We enjoyed our first stay at the Cheviot so much that we returned for a second visit and hope to go back again. Both times our room was in The Post House across the road. It was spotlessly clean and warm, with a large comfortable bed. We enjoyed the Nespresso coffee machine and Tunnocks biscuits. There was plenty of hot...

I was on a long distance walk and Dave and Anne exceeded my expectations: spacious well decorated room, great shower, bed, pillows... nice little touches and it's clear that they run a very smooth successful operation, reflected by their staff. They were friendly, caring and generous. Thoroughly recommended.

6 of us were staying locally in a holiday let. We were given recommendations for eating out and surprisingly the Cheviot wasn't mentioned until we bumped into a local farmer whilst out walking. We ended up eating there 3 times. There was a good selection of fine ales, the staff were extremely friendly and the food whilst maybe not AA...

Stayed for a couple of nights as a base for exploring the area. Nice room in the annex straight across the road. Breakfast was excellent with top quality products and very nice latte if you ask for it. Also attended a quiz with dinner in aid of the local church and was made to feel very welcome by the locals....

I past a couple of hours in the evening in the bar and met some lovely locals too 2. The cheese board (with 4 big chunks of local cheese)...

Booked a 2 night break through Secret Escapes it was excellent value. Lovely Country pub in a beautiful location. All the staff we spoke to were very friendly and helpful.
