Visited a trail along Hadrians wall and needed somewhere to lay our heads. Popped to a pub in Brampton for a quick beer whilst we discussed our options and use the free WiFi. After a pint, the choice was clear and we stayed here, at The Howard Arms. The staff are great, very friendly and prompt. The food was delicious,...

Three miles of dull road walking away from the Wall route, but Brampton itself is really nice and this place perfectly acceptable. £59 for one a bit pricey for a simple place to lay ones head but the room was nice and clean, bathroom ok and staff friendly. Didn't eat dinner so can't comment, but the town was lively on...

The room we had was very nice and clean and the bathroom was also nice. I think maybe the room had been refurbished recently. The bed was fairly comfortable so we slept alright. The food in the hotel restaurant was pretty good, not the best, but it satisfied us and we enjoyed our stay. My husband did enjoy his full...

Stayed here on our way to Inverness. There was convenient parking at the rear, the staff were pleasant if a bit distracted and the room was large, clean and quiet. Had a fair meal in the restaurant that night. Had a full breakfast the next morning included in the price which was again of fair quality.

I have stayed here twice, once last October for my son's wedding and again last Christmas, also to meet up with my son who lives in the area. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are returning at the end of this month. The owners are friendly and helpful, staff are all fabulous, the breakfasts are great, prepared to...

Prior to seeing a play we went for a meal here. Having read a glowing article in the Cumberland News boasting about the quality of the food and telling us that they had an italian chef in the hotel, I felt confident that the meal would be great. What a let down ! The Lasagne was tasteless and inedible, and...

I have noticed from another comment on here that there was a sticky table which is what we had as well and the food was not up to the standard it should of been for the price we were charged. My husband complained and was given some money back perhaps the chef should be told to raise his standards.

Should be good pub grub. We had a dismal Sunday lunch on our first visit, then tried mussels on another visit, well a bucket of sickly cream with mussels in it. Decided to try again hoping for 3rd time lucky. Had the seafood platter, it was a trio of seafood, soggy calamari and soggy whitebait with 2 tiger prawns. Wilting...
