We found this site via the 'Tiny Campsite Book' else we would not of come across it as the camping bit is not well advertised. A beautiful spot, wild and windy with glourious views across the hills. We only stayed the night and we were very satisfied with the facilities. Good basic clean toilets with showers hot and free. Electric...

Booked the camping last minute but seeing other reviews it looked ok. Asked for hard standing but was told that was full. On arrival it was clear that the hard standing is all taken up by long term caravans which we had to drive through to get to the 'flat' field. There was no one there when we arrived so...

We stayed for one night's camping and had a great time. We had a fantastic walk in the local area during the day with beautiful, varied views. In the evening we ate at the pub. We'd seen mixed reviews of the pub/food but we were actually very impressed with the home cooked traditional pub meals. Scampi was generous and juicy,...

Very unfriendly land lord. Refused to serve me tap water when I ordered a diet coke and tap water. When I pointed out it is illegal not to serve tap water he eventually did serve me the water. Both drinks were served in dirty glasses. Felt like my custom was an incovenience to him to say the least. My suggestion...

We called at the Wild Boar Winkle for an evening meal the menu was much the same as many country pubs and I have to say it was nothing special there was a long wait to be served even though there were no other customers the meal was a little bland not too impressed

The views from the campsite are beautiful. The facilities are fairly basic but perfectly acceptable. The pub is very friendly with great food and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend to for walkers or other groups. There is also live music on a Saturday night.

Went to The Wild Boar in Wincle last night to meet up with my brother and his partner and, also, to watch local singer, Andy Hofton. Such an amazing night. The atmosphere was buzzing, the crowd, friendly and the landlord and landlady even put on some sandwiches, quiches, pies, etc. This apparently happens every Saturday evening! I have to say,...

We recently stayed at the Wild Boar Country House Hotel and received lovely, friendly service from the staff there. Room was well appointed and spotlessly clean. Lovely complimentary toiletries. Restaurant and other rooms felt really welcoming and relaxing. Food was excellent and a good choice a breakfast time. I would recommend this for short break. Plenty of interesting places to...

“We saw beautiful sunrise from room 11 but have been told better views would have been from a room higher up (we were on ground floor).”
