I have now stayed at the ship three times on business and can't say a bad word about it. The bar has an open fire which roars and a great selection of real ales and ciders. In the restaurant I have had three superb steaks with seafood that I couldn't fault. The guest rooms are amongst the cleanest I have...

I have been staying at the Ship for a night, sometimes two nights every week, for the last 8 months and on EVERY occasion the stay and hospitality (especially the food and drink) have been second to none. The accommodation is always spotless, the food fantastic, and the reals ales flawless! Peter, Sheila the staff and regulars have always made...

Ate at The Ship Friday's early bird special, with an excellent selection of real ales and choice of menu. My partner recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease asked what options there were. The Chef ( not just a cook) Sheila couldn't have been more helpfull, although not on the menu board served up a delicious chicken infused with goats cheese and spinach, and had...

Ive been visiting the Ship Inn for more than 10 years now and everytime i`m left to wonder why I ever go anywhere else. The best real ale I've found anywhere in the country and a fantastic menu offering great value. If...

The ambience of the bar/dining room was not appealing, with everything in dour shades of brown, and intermittent background music that kept sticking. Also they had a strange habit of knocking very loudly on the kitchen door to indicate...

We have never stayed at the Ship but it is certainly one of our favourite places to eat. Peter and Sheila and their staff are always warm and welcoming and there is always an excellent choice of beers. Food - Sheila prepares the most outstanding food, always delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. Every meal we have eaten there has been...
