This hotel is currently having a large amount of improvement works completed including large areas of hotel closed. It really needs the improvement as overall the hotel was disappointing and not very clean. Staff are trying but unfortunately this hotel is well past it's best.

This review is just for Sunday Carvery and not about accommodation. A party of 8 of us went there last month for Sunday Carvery. Choice of Turkey, Beef or Pork, with about 6 different veg and all the trimmings. The food was beautiful and the gravy was just like home made .Lovely setting too if you are in the conservatory....

This is the 2nd time I have visited this hotel on business. First time great, 2nd time not so great. The staff are friendly and pleasant enough, checking in is great and finding your way around is simple enough. The 2nd visit I had, was not a fun experience, the bed wasn't supportive at all, and the television was broken...

I stay away in hotels all across the country every week for work, this is one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed in. The staff don't seem to know what customer service means, the food is terrible and the hotel is in much need of a makeover. Definitely would not recommend this hotel.

Due to my own fault I had booked, via this hotel's own website, the night before and was subsequently down as a 'no show' when I turned up the next evening expecting my room! The very busy Michael on reception was very understanding and managed to sort out my stupidly and found me a room at no extra cost. Sure...

The rooms were here grubby and in disrepair. There was a very bad smell in both the corridors and rooms. The main bar and restaurant was cold. The rooms were here grubby and in disrepair. Superior room, on 1st floor had nice additions-sofa, subtle lighting. Bathroom and room comfortably warm. Slight problem with separate curtains, one of which fell down as only held up with velcro. Swimming pool area and changing rooms much improved, though temperature of both suggested the heating had been turned down because it was a quiet Sunday afternoon.

You can see this hotel would have been amazing 20-30 years ago but now the decoration and furnishings look dated and worn. We stayed in 112 (opposite the gym) and could hear loud music coming from there from the minute we arrived. At 8.45pm I asked if they could turn it down, which they did. The room was like the...
