Staff great, nothing too much trouble, they knew we'd be arriving a little before official check in as we were spending the day at the airshow & made sure our rooms were ready on arrival. Very clean with a mix of the original fearures & modern decor. Our room wasn't a bad size but had been one big room originally,...

We have stayed at the Carleton House twice now and would come back again. Can't fault this hotel and the service, the rooms are decorated nicely too with a comfortable bed. Location wise, the hotel is just outside of the town but is only a short stroll from the shops etc. Southport itself is lovely with some good shops and...

All the positives said about this guesthouse are true. Very welcoming and helpful staff. The town itself feels like it's in another age ( that isn't a put down ), anyone I had dealings with was very friendly. A lovely place and great guesthouse. Its best asset is its staff.

We stayed here on two separate stop-overs on our way to and from Scotland. This was our second stay in Southport within the last couple of months and after the previous visit at a brand new four star hotel on the Waterfront Promenade, which was a great disappointment, for the first time in our lives we chose a B &...

We stayed at the hotel for a long weekend, we arrived on the Saturday morning and managed to check in early, which was great, we had 3 rooms booked, a double, twin and single. All rooms were lovely presented, exceptionally clean, a lovely touch was to have water and biscuits in the room as well as tea & coffee facilities....

The room was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. Noise seemed to travel from next door's room. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We couldn't use the shower in the morning through due to lack of water pressure. There was an excellent choice for breakfast but let down by micro-waved scrambled eggs. Overall a pleasant stay in a good location...

We stayed just for one night, but even from the phone call with the manageress, who arranged our accomodation, she was just a delight to speak too. When we arrived, yet another fabulous member of staff greeted us. She then showed us to our room No 1, which is on the ground floor and was just perfect! We travel alot,...

Lovely clean hotel, friendly helpful staff, wonderfull breakfast BUT------ Not quite geared up for young children! Room too posh-frightened of spoiling something. Was classed as a family room! No way of fastening little one in highchair,no tray so things on table were in danger of landing on the floor.Shower too small and no good for little one. Would have liked a...

We stayed here for one night in July 2009 in a Superior Room, which was very clean and attractively furnished, overlooking the rear of the hotel. The ensuite was very clean and bright with a good quality shower. Plenty of towels and toiletries were provided. The breakfast room was light and airy. The food was of a high quality. The...
