Just had a weekend break at the Devan Bay Hotel alias The Grosvenor Hotel, Good Location right on the front just 10 mins walk to the harbour. Room was clean and tidy, Hotel could do with a lick of paint maybe as it's not long been taken over they might well do. Food is just average, but plenty of places...

My friend and I visited The Devon Bay Hotel on the 17th June for a long weekend. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely gentleman called Fran who was more than helpful and very friendly( He was very good with all the guests, is a great credit to this Hotel) We had a very pleasant room (105) it...

Visited this hotel as part of a coach tour. Staff welcoming, but very few of them. One girl serving two coach parties. That did improve later in the week. We were on third floor, lift very small, only take two persons, and lift failed twice during our stay, fortunately not between floors. Food fairly good, but slow waiter service. Our...

I booked this place well in advance and they phoned me on THE DAY OF ARRIVAL to let me know there had been a mistake and they had no rooms available. This was dire as I had already booked the room in advance, there is practically no phone signal in the area, which they should have been aware of. I...

First impressions very disappointing ! sited between two derelict buildings all of which must have been impressive in their day ! Couldn't miss it though it was painted a horrible mustard colour ! The steps to the entrance were filthy and just need sweeping and a good scrub. The room was very small, even taking into account it was a budget...

coach trip with diamond holidays not to be recommended, nearly 14 hour journey, to this hotel, what a disappointment worn and scruffy, rooms dreadful chipped bath, and furnishings, tele out of the ark, friends room who had paid for a double single occupancy, was the most appalling single room imaginable, sink in bedroom, shower cubicle and toilet crushed into such...

Room small and clean but seriously, who has blankets on a bed these days? Miniscule TV which only shows 4 channels (needs upgrading to 21st century). Food plentiful but roast potatoes terrible (usually burnt and inside mushy). Entertainment (male singers) were good, although played to a small audience most evenings....probably not helped by the price of drinks from the bar....

The food is good and the staff are helpful but the hotel is so tired and dated and in need of urgent modernisation and needs structural repairs. The bathroom in 116 is new and clean. The bed linen was clean and there was good storage space but the carpet was filthy and the old fashioned curtains blocked out the light...

Stayed here on a coach holiday so lots of us to cater for. First impressions were not great and unfortunately the hotel is situated in between two derelict properties which doesn't set it off well. Bedrooms were clean and adequately furnished but dated and not attractive. The beds were old and I struggled with sheets and blankets. No double glazing...
