7 of us stayed at the Royal Britannia whilst walking the SW Coast path and it was a real mixed bag. Generally, the hotel is tatty and needs some TLC. The lounge bar had a good selection of beers but the music was too loud and there was only ever one person behind the bar. And you have to get...

We stayed here for two nights at the end of April. Let's say that first impressions were not good. There were decorators in the hotel and the reception was none existent. We opened a door with reception on it and it was like a small cupboard with two members of staff crammed in there on laptops. We said we had...

Quick check in, car parking was easy, about 5 minutes walk from other side of the harbour. Only £4.40 a day. Breakfast was really nice and beer was good with a great view while you drunk it out in the beer garden overlooking the beach and harbour. The room was a good size, bed was comfy and the bathroom was...

This hotel is in a great location on the harbour and it is clear some work is needed to compete in ilfracombe. Very tired. I have to say the whole place feels like it needs a good clean. Menus are sticky, carpet stained, hairs and dust everywhere. Also the refurbishment is odd - repainting walls without removing pictures. Bars felt...

we had a 2 night stay over Easter & the only positive from our stay was the view from our room, which looked over the harbour. check in time was from 3pm, we arrived at 5:30pm to be told that our room had not yet been cleaned & could wait in the bar. at this point I think we should...

The music in the bar is far too loud and is more in line with night club music, not at all in line with the decor. It makes conversation very difficult with the lovely people you meet in there. Pleased turn it down as you can't hear yourself think !!

Pros: Fab location Car parking not too pricey Good shower Management nice and chatty. Fairly priced food and drink Cons: Room was dusty The room guide and our booking form said every room has a sea view, well ours was of a busy road. Décor was mismatched It just didn't feel cosy. Dodgy wifi
