Hello John. Thanks for your question. We are refurbishing (not demolishing) 7 out of our 44 bedrooms. This area of work is on the 1st floor and cordoned off from guests. Any significant work occurs between 10h & 16h during the weekday only so you won't experience any work on the Saturday / Sunday planned stay. As I write there is a small skip to the hotel frontage which is being used for waste materials from the building works. All of our facilities, bar, brasserie, library, lounges and so on are available with no disruption to guests at all.
We are very close to the start point of the Coast to Coast route, as you probably know, and frequently host cyclists. We have secure storage for bikes away from the car park plus adequate drying facilities should it be wet. If you wish to speak to us about the works or have any other concerns please call me on 01271 862446 or 07718 936469. And if you book direct with us we can offer a great deal on dinner inclusive rates for the Saturday.
