We stayed at this hotel in September. On arrival we were quickly checked in and given the keys to our room. The room was quite small but very clean and had everything we needed. Beds were very comfy and we slept well. lots of tea, coffee and milk. The manageress was very helpful, she came into our first evening meal and explained meal times, food ordering etc. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. Even though there was only one sitting for each meal all food was served quickly. I enjoyed every meal I had. It was only a short walk to the shops and the beach from the hotel. If I come back to the Isle of Wight I would definitely stay here again.

Just stayed here for a 4 day break, what a nice hotel yes its 2* but dont let that put you off, check in was easy, room was clean, fresh and fully stocked, tea, coffee, soap etc. the food was beautifully cooked, hot and plenty of it, the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful always smiling and manners impeccable, manager as heavenly pregnant but still managed to be on hand, smiling and keeping us informed. really good experiance, would definitely stay again. well done.

Stayed at the channel view hotel this past weekend, and had a lovely time , food was basic but edible , but what do you expect from a 2* hotel . The rooms were clean and tidy the beds were comfortable, shower was a shower but then wasn't expecting a power shower , I personally found all the staff lovely my only gripe is that the lift only goes to the 1st floor and suffering from long covid that has affected some areas of my health I had a good time

There were issues in poor communication between the hotel manager and our coach driver from the very beginning about times of meals. The service attitude in the dining room was very stingy; having to order even breakfast cereal or coffee the previous meal is unusual, and drinking water we had to get up and pour ourselves into flimsy disposable plastic beakers. The reception was never manned except at 3pm each day - the rest of the time the key to the office was hanging in the key safe (which was open) outside the door! The cleanliness was fine, but the wiring was shoddy (loose fittings in the room and hanging cables in corridors). The lighting in the dining room was dingy and the curtains tatty. Then to see the fire alarm system with two zones indicating faulty and switched off was worrying.

I stayed here as part of a coach trip which included breakfast and dinner. The room was lovely, it had a bay window with an ocean view. There are only two plugs in the room so take an extension cord. The bathroom was clean and very nice. The show drain was a bit slow but fine. The room came with a keep te and good supply of tea and coffee, with extra supplies available in the reception. The large breakfast room was nice and well attended to . The breakfast and dinner were excellent. Good choices too. There is a bar and one night they had a DJ. It’s a great location about a 5 min walk from the Pier area with lots of restaurants and pubs/bars available. There was talk amongst the coach party of issues with the manager, I thought it fair to mention this…. I did not interact with her and had no issues at all with anything. She seemed to be a nice person but apparently was a bit abrasive with a few in the party. Still, I really enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to stay here again.

This Hotel is extremely Basic and in need of updating. The Plumbing and electrics are not up to modern standards. No cold water gets to the second floor so the shower is useless. There are only 2 sockets for the TV Hair drier and kettle, so no spares. The light fitting in our bedroom had a broken switch so the bulbs had been loosened to turn it off. The shower fitting was also loose. The food is good and well served by the 2 waiters, who also run the Bar. The owner is a little strict and regimented. Don't confuse here with the Hotel in Shanklin with the same me name. Don't choose to book this hotel, but if you find your coach company takes you there then it is cheap and basic.

I had to cancel my booking and they did not give me my money back. No response to the emails at all. They were too busy to give me the answer on the phone and then just shut it. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone

I had a room at the end of the Hotel, kind of house next door. This was not as ‘pretty’ as the original hotel pics. Old and grubby. There was still empty Vodka bottles in one of the bedside drawers. Cartons of orange that had exploded as they were old! Definitely no sea views from this hotel, as there was a hotel on the corner of the road which would block the view. All that being said, it was basic and ok. No breakfasts were offered. Teas and kettle in the room . Best things about it, was the location, across the road, there was a footpath that led straight to the beach ☺️

It’s dated yes, but I found this hotel fine for two nights when visiting for the yearly scooter rally. We turned up 2 hours early and were given keys to our rooms. I believe that they are strict on no early arrivals so guess we were lucky. I think you have to understand that this is a two star hotel and you get what you pay for. Don’t expect 4 star service when you book a two star hotel. Our room was again dated but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also dated but clean. The shower was fine with plenty of hot water. The reception was not your usual welcoming area and the bar wasn’t open at all during our stay. I would recommend as the price is cheap but don’t expect any thrills if you stay here and expect a dated hotel.
