Visited with a group of 9 others walking the Isle of Man coast When we arrived our rooms had been made up as doubles not twins as per booking and the one member of staff behind the bar was unaware of our expected arrivalThis person was very helpful and struggled to change all 5 of our rooms. However though we...

We wanted an early dinner in Castletown and The George was practically the only place that looked open. The staff were welcoming, service good. I had steak medium rare which was how I like it, not tough or stringy. The Guiness was better than the O'Kells.

Great central location, only a few minutes from airport. Friendly staff, family run business, great Sunday lunch, good selection of wines all at reasonable prices. Lots of other local restaurants and pubs all within walking distance. Certainly will return Capt Medley

Popped into The George for an afternoon meal after visiting the attractions in the town. Decided upon the Manx Steak and Okells Ale pie which was really nice, with the accompanying chips and veg being good also. The pub decor could be updated a little as the place was really dark, but that is just my opinion. However it provides...

We booked as a group of 7 for a Sunday lunch and had no problem getting a table to suit us. The menu gave options of the traditional Sunday Roast (lamb or pork) or anything else off the menu. Most of us went for a Sunday roast and were not dissapointed, especially since the price was not even £10. The...

Visited the island with my dad for a long weekend in March 2017. IOM is a wonderful place to visit and I would recommend it to anyone. However do not make the mistake of staying in this place- it is, quite simply, a dump. First of all it isn't actually a hotel - just a tired old pub with a...

Everyone's food was terrible for our table of 6. Food used to be fairly good, but since H&B have standardised their menu across all pubs, it was awful. Used to do a very mean chicken burger, but this time it was bland, unseasoned and dry. Chips were anemic and came with no side salad etc. Heron & Brearley once again...

Visited after arriving at airport one lunchtime, entering from car park was like walking back in time, dingy faded coverings to floors and walls, stairs to upper floors marked residents only were grim. The bar experience was not much better bored bar staff moaning about their life in general. One drink and away, on the positive side had previously considered...

We were there for one night and never again, a member of staff took us to a room which was supposed to be ours only to find someone in it, he then tried another one and again someone was in it, we got a room on the 3rd attempt, we wanted some food, we were told there was none, the...
