I think this hotel needs modernising - it is very old fashioned (yep rooms have padded flower head boards). The hall walls have large cracks and the furniture and carpets are very tired. It is not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Good points - the rooms are a great size (but not a large bed) and...

Pleasant restaurant within the Sefton Hotel. Food was a little on the expensive but not overly so given the usual hotel prices. Staff were friendly and attentive and the menu would cover everyone's taste. The hotel is situated in a central part of Douglas across the road from the promenade.

The hotel was in a great location being on the front in Douglas and right next to the theatre which is a must to visit even just for look round it is unique. Good food and plentiful at the hotel with helpful and friendly staff. A small but lovely pool and a large bar which also serves lunch.

The Sefton is a great hotel. The rooms are supurb, and large. The breakfast was good for chice and selection. The staff were friendly and attentive. However, the design of the hotel is ...... weird! Apart from the sea view rooms, the rooms seem to be arranged around a central atrium, all with inner balconies overlooking a central indoor area...

Spent a night at the Sefton hotel on a recent business trip to the IOM. It's close to the Gaiety theatre and has a Norman Wisdom themed bar with lots of memorabilia in it. If you are into mid to late 20th century "showbiz" stuff there is lots to see. Painless check in, very helpful reception staff. I got a...

3rd time back to this hotel. We had the most beautiful situated Atrium room? Very peaceful and absolutely spotless. Our bed and towels were changed every day.We ate in Sir Normans each night and not disappointed. Food was lovely and quick service considering it was busy over the time we were there. Big thank you to the staff that made...

We stayed at the hotel for the third time in 12 months. Once again we were overwhelmed by the hotel and by the welcome we received. We stayed in the Atrium which was great. The room was brilliant and very comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous each morning, with plenty of choice. We ate every night day in Sir Norman's bar. The...

This hotel is more like a 2 star hotel. We were shocked at its 4 star rating. Very dated with horrible carpets and tired worn decor. There were nettles growing out of the window boxes on the front of the hotel. Poorly maintained. We booked a family room which looked out onto filthy roofs with various debris strewn about. It...

Stayed for 5 nights as friends who live on the IOM recommended it. Did not feel it was up to 4* standard. Food in Norman's Bar was mediocre, so we generally ate at Davisons next door. Room was OK but looked out on poorly maintained white walls. Reception staff were not that friendly or welcoming.
